The “130-mile” carbon e-bike is the Mihogo Air, now marketed by Mihogo as the Air Carbon E-Bike or Air Max. That headline figure is a rounded version of a manufacturer maximum-range claim, not a reliable prediction of how far every rider can commute. Mihogo’s current product page advertises up to 121 miles and lists lower estimates at higher pedal-assist levels and on throttle.
Why the headline says 130 miles
The 130-mile figure appeared in a November 2024 report about the Mihogo Air. New Atlas reported Mihogo’s claim of up to 128 miles (206 km) for the dual-battery EU version, using its lowest pedal-assist setting. For the dual-battery US version, it reported a claimed maximum of 121 miles. The current Mihogo product page also advertises up to 121 miles, so the rounded headline should not be read as the current range for every version.
These are manufacturer range claims, not independent test results. The EU and US figures refer to different launch configurations, and the maximum applies at low assist—not necessarily at the speed or effort a commuter would use throughout a trip.

Mihogo says these estimates were obtained with an 80 kg rider on flat terrain at 27°C; elsewhere on the page it describes the scenario as mixed urban terrain. It also cautions that actual range can vary with terrain, load, wind, temperature, and tire pressure. These conditions and figures are the manufacturer’s, not a verified outcome for a particular route.
For commute planning, compare your full round-trip distance with a conservative estimate rather than the maximum. A route that depends on the highest advertised number leaves little margin for higher assist, cold weather, hills, extra cargo, or other conditions that reduce range. The published figures do not establish that the bike will reliably complete a particular rider’s daily commute.

EU and US launch versions were not identical
New Atlas’s November 2024 report described regional launch configurations with different motors, assist limits, claimed range, and weights. These are launch-era specifications; confirm the current model and local rules with Mihogo before buying.

The reported dual-battery capacity was 921.6 Wh, made from two 460.8 Wh batteries. Mihogo’s current page describes the capacity as close to 921.6 Wh, or 921 Wh. Do not assume a current regional listing has precisely the same equipment or assist behavior as the launch models.

What the Air is equipped for
The 2024 launch report described a low-step T800 carbon frame, adjustable stem and suspension fork, 26-inch wheels with 2.5-inch tires, mineral-oil hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors, and a seven-speed Shimano Altus gearset. Mihogo’s current listing emphasizes the carbon frame, dual batteries, torque sensing, hydraulic brakes, adjustable riding position, and app and display features. It also lists a 300 lb maximum load.
Mihogo names a front basket, bags, bottle holder, charger, and combination lock among the accessories. Check the current product listing for what is included with the specific configuration; the names on a product page do not by themselves establish that every accessory is standard or compatible with every model.

What to check before choosing it for a commute
- Regional version: Confirm motor rating, assist speed limit, and the specifications sold where you live. The launch-era EU and US versions differed.
- Battery configuration: Verify whether the bike comes with one or two batteries. The reported single-battery EU version was lighter but had less range.
- Realistic assist use: Match your likely PAS or throttle use to Mihogo’s estimates rather than planning around the lowest-assist maximum.
- Route and load: Account for hills, wind, temperature, tire pressure, rider weight, and carried cargo; Mihogo identifies these as factors affecting actual range.
- Carrying and parking: The reported dual-battery launch bikes weighed 55 lb in the EU configuration and 59.4 lb in the US one, relevant if you must lift or store the bike indoors.
- Current terms: Specifications, included accessories, warranty wording, availability, and price can change. Check Mihogo’s live listing before purchase.
