Sotheby’s lists a 44.5 mm case for its example numbered 997/1000. The catalogue measurements differ, so the case size is best given with attribution rather than as a single uncontested figure. Pink-gold variant
The family also included a pink-gold chronograph, a different variant with a different movement and edition count. Sotheby’s 2015 catalogue describes a circa-2012, 44 mm example numbered 118/500, with a cermet bezel and calibre 2326/2848. How many were made?
The count depends on the variant, and the published records conflict on the titanium edition. Phillips describes the titanium series as 1,000 examples; Sotheby’s catalogue documents a titanium watch numbered 997/1000. But Audemars Piguet’s heritage account identifies a 2012 reference 26568 titanium-and-cermet model as a 100-piece edition. Because that short historical caption does not reconcile the discrepancy, the titanium count cannot be stated as definitive from these records alone. What do the seven stars and dial details mean?
Phillips’ catalogue interprets the seven stars on the tachymeter scale as references to Schumacher’s seven Formula 1 world titles. Its description associates blue stars with his Benetton years and red stars with Ferrari. The outer minute track, according to the same catalogue, evokes a checkered flag. These are design readings supplied by the auction catalogue, rather than independently verified statements from Schumacher.
What is the video connected to the watch?
The watch’s international unveiling took place on 17 October 2012 at Berlin’s Kraftwerk building. A launch report says Audemars Piguet released the third video in its Defining Moment Series alongside the limited edition. In it, Schumacher discusses how he began, his motor-racing career and the defining moment of his career. The event also featured a separate video-mapping projection blending watchmaking and racing imagery; that projection was not the Defining Moment video. Launch report.

No verified transcript or attributable exact quotation from Schumacher about this watch or its launch video is available in the cited accounts, so his remarks should not be quoted without checking the video itself.
How is it different from the 2015 Laptimer?
The Royal Oak Concept Laptimer Michael Schumacher is a separate 2015 watch, not another name for the 2012 Offshore Chronograph. Audemars Piguet says Schumacher challenged its engineers in 2010 to develop a mechanical watch that could time multiple consecutive laps without restarting the stopwatch. The manufacturer describes the resulting Laptimer as combining a chronograph with a flyback function and independently controlled hands. What does the auction result say about its value?
Phillips records a sale of its titanium example for HK$325,000 against an estimate of HK$200,000–300,000. That is one historical auction result, not a current valuation, retail price or prediction for another watch. The catalogue page does not establish a sale date.
