The MG Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm were not originally launched at ₹20 lakh. MG’s April 2024 Blackstorm release listed its five-seat petrol-CVT version at ₹21,24,800 ex-showroom, while Autocar India reported the Snowstorm’s September 2024 starting price at ₹21.53 lakh ex-showroom. A later, limited-period MG anniversary offer in August 2025 brought selected Hector editions to ₹20,71,800. These are prices from different dates and configurations, not one interchangeable price.
Here’s how the two editions differ, what the price figures cover, and what to check when comparing a current dealer quote.
MG Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm prices: what the figures mean
Price depends on the edition, date, seating layout and powertrain. The figures below are ex-showroom prices published by MG or reported by Autocar India; they are not on-road quotes.
| Date and source | Edition and configuration | Ex-showroom price | Price context |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 April 2024, MG launch release | Hector Blackstorm, five seats, petrol-CVT | ₹21,24,800 | Configuration-specific launch price |
| 10 April 2024, MG launch release | Hector Blackstorm, five seats, diesel-manual | ₹21,94,800 | Configuration-specific launch price |
| 25 September 2024, Autocar India | Hector Snowstorm, starting configuration | ₹21.53 lakh | Reported starting launch price; the cited report does not specify the configuration here |
| 4 August 2025, MG anniversary announcement | Selected Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm, petrol-CVT | ₹20,71,800 | Limited-period anniversary price |
| 4 August 2025, MG anniversary announcement | Selected Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm, diesel-manual | ₹21,41,800 | Limited-period anniversary price |
The original launch figures found for both editions were above ₹20 lakh. The clearest basis for the “Rs 20 lakh” wording is MG’s later limited-period 2025 offer for selected petrol-CVT trims—not either edition’s original launch price.

Current Hector Plus listings are separate from launch prices
MG’s current Hector Plus product pages display ₹20,55,000 for certain six-seat Snowstorm and Blackstorm diesel-manual variants, ₹20,58,000 for the seven-seat Snowstorm petrol-CVT, and ₹20,55,000 for the seven-seat Snowstorm diesel-manual. These are live listing values, not the 2024 launch prices or a guarantee of local availability. Check MG’s current Hector Plus listing and confirm the exact trim and quote with a dealer.
A dealer’s on-road price can differ from an ex-showroom figure because it reflects the chosen variant and location, as well as registration, insurance and any current offer. Ask for an itemised quote for the same seat count, fuel type and transmission before comparing prices.

How the Blackstorm and Snowstorm editions differ
Both are special editions of the Hector family, but their visual themes are distinct. Blackstorm builds around a dark exterior and cabin treatment; Snowstorm pairs a white exterior with contrasting black details. The equipment descriptions below are manufacturer specifications, not independent assessments of performance.
| Edition | Launch and styling | Published equipment details |
|---|---|---|
| Blackstorm | Launched in April 2024. MG described a Starry Black Hector with a black-themed cabin and Gun Metal accents. | Dark-chrome exterior elements, R18 all-black alloy wheels with red calipers, piano-black roof rails, LED headlamp bezels and smoked connected tail lamps. MG’s release also listed a 14-inch HD infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, a digital Bluetooth key with key sharing, and more than 75 connected features. Five-, six- and seven-seat configurations were listed. |
| Snowstorm | Reported launched in September 2024. Autocar India described a white exterior with contrasting black treatment and dark-chrome details. | MG’s current Hector Plus listing describes a panoramic sunroof, all-black interiors, a 14-inch HD screen and 70+ connected features. The current seven-seat listing shows Snowstorm petrol-CVT and diesel-manual variants; the six-seat listing also includes edition variants. |
Feature counts and equipment descriptions come from MG’s release and product listings: Blackstorm’s 75+ figure is from its 2024 launch material, while Snowstorm’s 70+ figure appears in the current Hector Plus listing. They should not be read as a direct measure of which edition has more useful technology.

What to check before choosing one
- Match the configuration: confirm whether the quote is for a Hector or Hector Plus, the seat count, and petrol-CVT or diesel-manual powertrain.
- Separate the price dates: distinguish a launch price from the limited-period 2025 anniversary offer and any current product-page or dealer price.
- Confirm local availability: ask the dealer to identify the exact edition and variant on the written quote, and whether any offer still applies.
- Compare the delivered cost: request an itemised on-road quote that separates ex-showroom price, registration and insurance.
- Ask about ownership terms: verify the applicable warranty and roadside-assistance terms, along with any offer conditions, directly with MG or the selling dealer.
The supplied launch and product information establishes styling and listed equipment; it does not establish a real-world fuel-economy, ride-quality or safety-performance advantage for either edition. Those questions require separate evidence, so the edition choice supported here is principally about appearance, configuration and price.

- Side protection of vehicles to resist scuffing and bumping:Installed on both sides of the car body, it can form a protective barrier, which can stop the side rubbing caused by roadside stones, shoulders and pedestrians opening the door when parking, reduce the scratches and pits of the car door and protect the original car paint.
- Optimize the appearance and improve the visual quality of the whole vehicle: the streamlined appearance design fits the profile of the side of the vehicle, which will not suddenly destroy the lines of the original vehicle. After installation, the whole vehicle will look more full and atmospheric, with both practical functions and decorative effects.
- High-strength integrated structure, outstanding bearing capacity: adopting thickened aluminum alloy main material and integrated stamping process, the overall structure is stable and solid, can bear higher weight, is convenient for the elderly and children to get on and off the vehicle, is not easy to deform and bend when stepping on it, and is stable after long-term use.
- Anti-skid texture on the pedal surface improves the safety of getting on and off: the pedal surface is designed with concave-convex anti-skid texture and anti-skid and wear-resistant surface, which can effectively prevent skidding in rainy days when it is wet with water and mud, so as to avoid slipping and falling when getting on and off, and improve the safety of daily vehicles.
