The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe is best understood as a used-car model family, not one fixed specification: its engine, equipment and original price changed by model year. The 2018 E400 launched with a V6 and rear- or all-wheel drive; the refreshed 2021 E450 added MBUX and a 48-volt-assisted inline-six. Mercedes-Benz listed the final 2023 U.S. lineup at historical MSRPs from $69,750 to $84,500. Those figures are not current used-car prices.
What kind of car is the E-Class Coupe?
The E-Class Coupe combines the E-Class nameplate’s luxury positioning with a two-door body and four individual seats. Its long wheelbase and standard panoramic roof were among the features Mercedes-Benz highlighted at launch. The two-door format means rear access and seating are different from a four-door E-Class sedan; assess the cabin and cargo space in person if they matter to your use.
Mercedes-Benz’s U.S. model page includes a gallery, while its launch release provides downloadable photographs. Match any photo to the correct model year and trim: the 2018 E400 and refreshed E450 have distinct styling and technical specifications. 2018: E400 launch
The U.S. launch lineup consisted of the E400 Coupe with rear-wheel drive and the E400 4MATIC Coupe with all-wheel drive. Both used a 3.0-liter V6 biturbo and a nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic. Mercedes-Benz listed standard features including 64-color ambient lighting, a panoramic roof, a rearview camera, Active Brake Assist and split-folding rear seats. The manufacturer’s launch release also described standard lowered suspension with selective damping, DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes and optional AIR BODY CONTROL multi-chamber air suspension. 2021: refreshed E450
The refreshed Coupe brought Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), voice control and two 12.3-inch displays, along with updated driver-assistance functions. Its E450 used a 2,999 cc inline-six rated at 362 hp and 369 lb-ft, paired with a nine-speed automatic. A 48-volt integrated starter-generator could provide up to 21 additional hp and up to 184 lb-ft of additional torque. Mercedes-Benz listed a 130 mph electronically limited top speed; its release marked the 0–60 mph figure as “TBA,” so that source does not establish an acceleration time. 2023: final listed U.S. E-Class Coupe lineup
Mercedes-Benz’s 2023 U.S. pricing table included E 450, E 450 4MATIC and AMG E 53 Coupes. The E-Class Coupe was followed in the brand’s lineup by the CLE Coupe, a new series drawing on C-Class and E-Class concepts. Mercedes-Benz announced U.S. dealer arrival for the CLE in the first quarter of 2024. The reviewed manufacturer sources do not give an exact E-Class Coupe discontinuation date. See the 2023 E-Class Coupe pricing release; for the later family, see the CLE U.S. arrival announcement.

What did the E-Class Coupe cost new?
Mercedes-Benz’s published figures are original U.S. model-year MSRPs, not estimates of what a used example should cost today. The 2018 launch guide listed its E400 prices before a $995 destination and delivery charge. The 2023 table lists model-year MSRPs; the cited release does not specify a separate destination-charge amount for these entries.

How to assess a used E-Class Coupe
There is no single current used price established by these manufacturer sources. An asking price is specific to the car and local market, so compare individual listings rather than treating original MSRP as a current valuation.
- Confirm the model year, exact trim and drivetrain; E400, E450 and AMG E 53 are not interchangeable specifications.
- Compare mileage, condition, options, maintenance records and vehicle history alongside the asking price.
- Check the specific vehicle’s recall status and service history before purchase; do not infer either from the model name alone.
- Verify equipment against the individual listing or vehicle, since standard and optional features vary by year and configuration.
How does the CLE Coupe compare?
The CLE is useful as a later Mercedes-Benz coupe-family reference, not as a direct specification substitute for the E-Class Coupe. For U.S. 2024 models, Mercedes-Benz announced CLE 300 4MATIC Coupe pricing of $56,500 and CLE 450 4MATIC Coupe pricing of $65,650, each excluding a $1,150 destination and delivery charge. Its 2024 quick reference lists a 255 hp 2.0-liter turbo inline-four with 48-volt assist for the CLE 300 and a 375 hp 3.0-liter turbo inline-six with 48-volt assist for the CLE 450. These are CLE specifications and historical launch prices, not E-Class Coupe figures. See the 2024 CLE pricing announcement and the 2024 CLE Coupe quick reference guide.
