Mercedes-Benz lists up to 818 hp with Push2Pass, a top speed of more than 199 mph, and a European price of €679,000 excluding VAT. It is not a road-going supercar: Mercedes-Benz says the Edition W16 is not homologated.
What the GT2 Edition W16 is—and is not
The Edition W16 is based on Mercedes-AMG’s GT2 customer race car and adds F1 W16-inspired aerodynamics and styling. Mercedes-Benz describes it as a car for track days and customer racing, not a road-car trim. Its lack of homologation means the announcement does not establish that it can be registered for public-road use.
Mercedes-AMG says the regular GT2 was developed to SRO GT2 technical regulations. The Edition W16 is not homologated and has a higher peak output figure that is available using Push2Pass.

How much power does it make?
The US announcement quotes up to 818 hp and 738 lb-ft with Push2Pass. Mercedes-AMG’s model page gives 610 kW and 1,000 Nm, describing the power as up to 830 hp. These are equivalent unit conventions: 610 kW is about 830 metric horsepower (PS) or 818 mechanical horsepower (hp), not two different engine outputs. Push2Pass is the stated condition for the peak figures.

Power comes from a handcrafted 4.0-liter AMG V8 biturbo with a flat-plane crankshaft. It is paired with a sequential six-speed competition gearbox. Mercedes-Benz states a curb weight of 3,153 lb (1,430 kg), a power-to-weight ratio of approximately 3.85 lb per US hp, and a top speed of more than 199 mph (320 km/h). These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results.
What makes the aerodynamics F1-inspired?
The Edition W16’s F1 references are functional as well as visual. Mercedes-Benz lists an enlarged front diffuser, active louvers above the front wheels, optimized mirrors and a carbon spoiler lip. Its DRS controls the rear wing and the louvers together. The manufacturer says development included testing on Formula 1 circuits.

Edition-specific styling completes the connection to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team’s W16. The resemblance does not make this an F1 car: the Edition W16 is a GT2-based customer racing vehicle.
What safety equipment and extras are included?
Mercedes-Benz lists a carbon safety cell, steel roll cage, five-point harness, safety nets, safety fuel tank and fire-suppression system. The equipment list also includes an extrication hatch, racing ABS and adjustable traction control.

Each car’s announced delivery package includes an edition-specific cover, plus a racing suit and helmet from Mercedes-AMG Motorsport suppliers OMP and BELL Helmets. The announcement describes these as included equipment.
How many will be made, and what is the price?
Mercedes-Benz announced a strictly limited run of 30 cars at €679,000 excluding VAT. That is the stated European price; the announcement does not give a current US price or a tax-inclusive total, so a direct currency conversion would not establish what a buyer elsewhere would pay.

The manufacturer planned a handover at a European racetrack for spring 2026. That plan does not confirm that the event took place. The cited announcements also do not establish whether all 30 cars sold or whether any are currently available.
