Yes. Mercedes-AMG CEO Michael Schiebe confirmed that the current C 63 and its four-cylinder powertrain are planned to be replaced by a C 53 with an inline-six. Reports expect the new model to be revealed in the second half of 2026, but Mercedes has not announced a launch date or final C 53 specifications.
What Mercedes-AMG has confirmed
In February 2026, Car and Driver reported that Schiebe confirmed the C 63’s four-cylinder would be phased out in favor of a C 53 with an inline-six. Edmunds separately reported Schiebe’s confirmation. In the interview excerpts Edmunds published, he said AMG was “replacing our four-cylinder” and that “the engine will also come to the C-Class.”
That establishes a planned replacement, not a C 53 that is already on sale. The two reports associate the future car with the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six used by the AMG CLE 53, but Mercedes has not published a C 53 specification sheet in the sources available.

What the current C 63’s power figures mean
The current U.S. C 63 S E Performance is rated at 671 hp as a complete performance hybrid. That figure should not be confused with the 469 hp Mercedes-Benz Media Newsroom USA attributed to the M139l combustion engine in its 2024 model launch announcement. The engine-only figure and the system-level vehicle figure describe different things. Neither is a specification for the future C 53.

When is the Mercedes-AMG C 53 coming out?
February 2026 reporting points to an expected reveal in the second half of 2026, but that is a forecast, not a confirmed debut date or a promise of customer deliveries. The cited reports do not establish the C 53’s price, exact sale date, regional availability, final output, or hybrid configuration.
