The Jet Shark Q is a custom semi-submersible watercraft designed to carry four people in a climate-controlled cockpit and travel both on the surface and a few feet underwater, according to its manufacturer. It is not a conventional submarine: the maker describes a shallow-diving design with a snorkel and camera pod above the water. Its operating, safety and performance claims have not been independently verified in the sources cited here.
What is the Jet Shark Q?
Jet Shark Inc. describes the Q as a recreational and commercial semi-submersible vessel. The company’s founder, Rob Innes, says the goal was to make the experience of going below the water more spacious and user-friendly. The Q is positioned as a larger alternative to the two-seat Seabreacher craft associated with Innes, with a cockpit intended for four full-size adults.
The manufacturer describes a watertight, climate-controlled cabin with panoramic windows and gull-wing doors. It says the doors can remain open during surface cruising in favorable conditions. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent assessments of comfort or operating limits.
A Jet Shark Inc. offering document filed with the SEC said two Q Model vessels had been built at the time of that filing. That historical figure does not establish current production volume or availability. Jet Shark Inc.’s SEC-filed offering statement

How does the Jet Shark dive?
The manufacturer says the Q is designed to submerge only a few feet below the surface, while a snorkel and camera pod stays above water. It describes electro-hydraulic dive-plane controls, rear elevators and vectored jet thrust as the systems used to maneuver underwater. The available material does not specify a verified maximum dive depth or provide independent performance testing.
The maker also says the vessel returns to the surface if power is lost and remains buoyant and self-righting if flooded. These are manufacturer claims, not proof of a safety certification or a guarantee for every operating condition. Prospective buyers should ask the company for current test results, applicable certifications, operating limits and safety documentation.

How many people can ride in a Jet Shark?
The manufacturer presents the Q as a four-seat craft for four full-size adults. Mercer Yachting’s listing gives seating as four to five, so the dealer and manufacturer descriptions differ. Treat four as the manufacturer’s stated layout and confirm the approved capacity, configuration and passenger requirements for a specific boat with the seller.
Jet Shark Q400 vs. Q600: dealer-listed figures
Mercer Yachting lists two configurations, the Q400 and Q600. The figures below are the dealer’s published specifications and starting prices; the listing is undated, and current factory specifications and terms are not confirmed.

It estimates a six-month build time from deposit. Those details are dealer-published estimates, not confirmed current factory specifications or delivery commitments. An earlier manufacturer media release estimated a Q-model retail price of US$250,000–300,000, depending on specifications and options. This is an older estimate in US dollars, separate from the dealer’s euro starting prices; neither figure should be treated as a current quote. Jet Shark’s media page

Is the Jet Shark available now?
Published status information is not consistent over time. Jet Shark’s media page described the Q as in development, with more testing and certification needed before production deliveries, and gave late 2024 as an expected first-delivery window. That was a historical forecast, not a current delivery promise. The manufacturer’s currently indexed homepage says it is accepting custom orders and deliveries have started, but that statement does not establish inventory, delivery volume, current lead times or regulatory approval in a particular jurisdiction.
Before placing an order, confirm directly with Jet Shark or the seller whether production and deliveries are active, what certifications apply where the boat will operate, and the current build schedule, price, configuration and order terms. Jet Shark’s homepage

How does it compare with a Seabreacher?
The manufacturer frames the Jet Shark as roomier and more practical than the smaller, two-seat Seabreacher, with a four-person cockpit and a design informed by Seabreacher customer feedback. That is the company’s positioning, not a result of an independent comparison. Buyers weighing the two should verify passenger capacity, cabin space, surface and submerged operating limits, handling, price and intended use for the particular models under consideration.
