The B.Engineering Edonis was a distinct supercar developed from the Bugatti EB110’s engineering base—not a factory Bugatti trim. It kept the EB110 connection while making major changes, most notably replacing its 3.5-liter, four-turbo V12 configuration with a launch-era 3.7-liter V12 using two turbochargers. B.Engineering’s period performance figures were claims, not independently verified test results.
How the Edonis is related to the Bugatti EB110
The Edonis emerged from the legacy of the EB110, but it was developed by B.Engineering as a separate car. Period coverage compared the two side by side, and a later evo feature describes the Edonis’s EB110-derived chassis and engine lineage. That relationship makes “EB110-derived” more accurate than calling the Edonis another Bugatti version.
The EB110 had been unveiled in Paris on 15 September 1991. Bugatti’s retrospective account describes it as a 3.5-liter V12 sports car with four turbochargers, a carbon-fiber monocoque and all-wheel drive. Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann later called it “a completely innovative super sports car” that was pioneering for both the brand and the automotive industry (Bugatti Newsroom, 2021).
What changed from the EB110?
| Feature | Bugatti EB110 | B.Engineering Edonis |
|---|---|---|
| Relationship | Original Bugatti model | Distinct B.Engineering car derived from the EB110, as described in period coverage and evo’s retrospective (evo, 2013) |
| Engine | 3.5-liter V12, according to Bugatti’s retrospective (Bugatti Newsroom, 2021) | 3.7-liter V12 in B.Engineering launch material reproduced by italiaspeed (2002) |
| Turbochargers | Four, according to Bugatti’s retrospective (Bugatti Newsroom, 2021) | Two, according to B.Engineering launch material reproduced by italiaspeed (2002) |
| Drivetrain | All-wheel drive, according to Bugatti’s retrospective (Bugatti Newsroom, 2021) | Not stated in the cited launch coverage |
| Performance figures | Not stated in the cited Bugatti retrospective | 680 bhp, above 360 km/h top speed and 0–100 km/h in under four seconds—manufacturer claims reproduced by italiaspeed in 2002, not independent test results |
The engine figures show the clearest technical departure in the available material. The Edonis retained an EB110-derived engineering foundation but used a larger stated displacement and half as many turbochargers. Period coverage also presents it as a visually distinct car; the available sources do not provide enough detail here for a precise component-by-component exterior comparison. The 680 bhp, speed and acceleration numbers should be read as B.Engineering’s launch claims, not as measured results from an independent road or track test (italiaspeed, 2002).

How rare was the Edonis?
The available sources do not establish a reliable final Edonis production total. Bugatti’s separate historical figures are useful context for the EB110, but they cannot be used as an Edonis build count: Bugatti reported 96 EB110 GTs, fewer than 40 EB110 Super Sports and two factory race cars produced by 1995 (Bugatti Newsroom, 2020).
Those EB110 numbers say nothing definitive about how many Edonis cars were completed. Nor do the sources establish whether later Edonis production or a revival occurred, or what parts and service support is available today. Rarity alone is not evidence for a specific production figure or current support status.
