What is the Corvette ZR1X?
The ZR1X is Chevrolet’s mid-engine hybrid Corvette flagship. It combines a gasoline V8 powering the rear wheels with an electric drive unit at the front, creating all-wheel drive. It is a hybrid, not a fully electric car.
Chevrolet introduced the ZR1X as a 2026 model in June 2025; its current model page labels it a 2027 model. Chevrolet says the car is offered as a coupe or hardtop convertible. The company builds the car at Bowling Green Assembly in Kentucky from U.S. and globally sourced parts, and says each LT7 engine is hand-assembled at its Bowling Green Performance Build Center. How much horsepower does the Corvette ZR1X have?
Chevrolet rates the ZR1X at 1,250 combined horsepower. That total comes from the 5.5-liter twin-turbo LT7 V8, rated at 1,064 hp at 7,000 rpm, and the front-axle electric drive unit, rated at 186 hp. Chevrolet also lists 828 lb-ft of torque from the V8 at 6,000 rpm and 145 lb-ft from the electric motor. The combined horsepower is Chevrolet’s stated system figure, not an independent measurement of output at the wheels. Chevrolet’s launch announcement explains the powertrain ratings.

How fast is the ZR1X?
Chevrolet’s current 2027 model page advertises 0–60 mph in 1.89 seconds and a quarter-mile in 8.99 seconds at 157 mph. These are manufacturer-listed available performance figures, not a promise that every driver or configuration will reproduce them. See the current ZR1X page for Chevrolet’s published specifications.
Chevrolet’s reported prepped-track run
Chevrolet separately reported a 2026 ZR1X completing the quarter-mile in 8.675 seconds at 159 mph and reaching 60 mph in 1.68 seconds on that same run. The company said the testing culminated in October 2025 at US 131 Motorsports Park on a prepped surface. Its January 13, 2026 announcement says the car used pump gasoline, standard tires, the production 50-state street-legal engine calibration, standard aero configuration, standard Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires, and available carbon-fiber wheels; Chevrolet also reported multiple back-to-back quarter-mile runs under 8.8 seconds. These are Chevrolet-reported results under specified conditions, not independent testing or guaranteed performance on ordinary roads, in different weather, or with every vehicle setup. Chevrolet’s lineup comparison describes each model by its powertrain and purpose. The ZR1X’s distinctive combination is a twin-turbo V8, front electric drive, 1,250-hp stated combined output, and all-wheel drive.

What does a 2027 Corvette ZR1X cost?
Chevrolet’s live model page currently lists a starting price of $227,800 for the 2027 ZR1X. Treat that as the listed starting price, not the price of every configured car: Chevrolet also shows an “as shown” price that varies with equipment. Model-year labels, prices, offers, and inventory can change, so check the current Chevrolet listing and confirm a specific vehicle with a dealer before buying.
What should owners know before taking it to a track?
Chevrolet publishes ZR1X-specific preparation instructions in its Corvette Academy Track Preparation Guide. It covers brake burnishing, high-voltage battery charge preparation, track load limits, tire pressures, alignment, and aero inspection or configuration. The guide gives minimum cold pressures of 32 psi for combined high-speed/high-load tracks and 28 psi for road or street courses, with different hot-pressure ranges depending on use. These are instructions for the stated course contexts—not general public-road tire-pressure recommendations. Follow the complete guide and the vehicle owner’s manual.

For track or course use, Chevrolet says tire loads can require replacement after the equivalent of one tank of fuel or approximately 50 miles, even when tread remains above the wear indicators. Chevrolet identifies Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires on its reported test vehicle, but the cited materials do not establish replacement tire sizes or fitment for every ZR1X. Verify the exact specification for the individual car before ordering tires.
