How much does the 2026 Honda Passport cost?
Honda’s U.S. configurator lists these starting MSRPs for the 2026 model year. The figures are manufacturer list prices, not quotes for a particular dealer, destination charge, or negotiated transaction.

What are the 2026 Honda Passport trim levels?
The seven configurations form three practical groups: RTL, RTL Towing and RTL Blackout; TrailSport and TrailSport Blackout; and the more fully equipped TrailSport Elite pair. The choice depends on whether you prioritize a lower starting price, towing hardware, trail equipment, or added comfort and cameras.
RTL: the lower-priced starting point
The RTL is the lineup’s least expensive configuration. For shoppers who want an integrated hitch and harness, the separately listed RTL Towing is the relevant step up. Blackout versions add black wheels and badging; the name does not indicate additional towing or off-road capability.
TrailSport: equipment for rougher routes
TrailSport models add all-terrain tires and off-road-tuned suspension. Honda also lists high-visibility recovery hooks, skid plates and a heated wiper zone for the TrailSport family. These features give it a different equipment focus from RTL, but they do not establish how it performs on a particular trail.

TrailSport Elite: more camera and cabin equipment
TrailSport Elite adds second-generation TrailWatch, heated and ventilated front seats, Bose audio, rear-door sunshades and hands-free power-tailgate features. Its Blackout counterpart adds the black wheels and badging.
What engine and all-wheel-drive system does it use?
Honda specifies a 285-horsepower V-6 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters. The Passport also uses Honda’s second-generation i-VTM4 all-wheel-drive system. Seven drive modes are listed: Normal, ECON, Sport, Snow, Trail, Sand and Tow.
Honda’s model page gives a headline fuel-economy rating of 19 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, and separately displays 18/23 mpg city/highway for TrailSport Elite. These are Honda-published ratings; they are not real-world results from an independent road test. Confirm the rating for the specific configuration you are considering.

How much can a 2026 Honda Passport tow?
Honda rates the Passport for up to 5,000 pounds of maximum towing capacity. That is the manufacturer’s stated maximum, not a guarantee that every vehicle, trailer or loading combination can tow that amount. The RTL Towing configuration includes an integrated Class III hitch and harness, but buyers should confirm the vehicle’s equipment, the applicable limits for their specific setup, and all trailer and local requirements before towing.
Is the 2026 Honda Passport good for off-roading?
Honda lists 8.3 inches of ground clearance and a 23-degree approach angle for the Passport. TrailSport models add all-terrain tires, off-road-tuned suspension, skid plates and recovery hooks, while the Trail and Sand drive modes provide settings intended for those surfaces. These manufacturer specifications describe equipment and geometry; they are not independent evidence of trail performance or a claim that every route is suitable.
For a buyer comparing configurations, the clearest distinction is hardware: RTL is the lower-priced choice, while TrailSport is the one equipped around rougher-road use. Consider the terrain, tires, underbody protection and recovery needs for your own trips rather than relying on trim name alone.

What are the cabin, cargo and technology features?
The Passport seats five and has a 60/40 split-folding second row, a modular cargo area, hidden storage and 12-volt outlets. Honda says a 115-volt outlet is available on specified trims. The official configurator result describes a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in.
Honda says Trail Info is standard across Passport models and appears in the digital instrument cluster. Its free Honda Trail Experience app provides TrailSport integration through Apple CarPlay compatibility. TrailWatch, Honda’s camera capability, is an Elite feature. Honda’s reviewed material does not establish a standardized cargo-volume figure, so cargo capacity should be assessed in person for items that need a precise fit.

Which 2026 Passport configuration makes sense?
- Choose RTL if the lowest listed starting MSRP is your main priority and you do not need the TrailSport equipment package.
- Compare RTL Towing if you want the integrated Class III hitch and harness included in the configuration; still verify towing limits and the equipment needed for your trailer.
- Choose TrailSport if all-terrain tires, off-road-tuned suspension, skid plates and recovery hooks better match your intended routes.
- Consider TrailSport Elite if you want TrailWatch, ventilated front seats and Bose audio in addition to the TrailSport focus.
- Use Blackout versions as an appearance choice: Honda lists black wheels and badging as their distinction.
