The 2024 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide ST is a performance-focused touring motorcycle announced on January 24, 2024, for the 25th anniversary of Harley-Davidson’s Custom Vehicle Operations. Its Milwaukee-Eight 121 High Output engine is manufacturer-rated at 127 hp and 145 lb-ft. Harley-Davidson called it the quickest and fastest performance bagger it had produced, but that is the company’s claim—not an independently verified speed comparison.
What makes the 2024 CVO Road Glide ST different?
Harley-Davidson positioned the ST as a hot-rod version of its touring bagger: a motorcycle combining hard luggage and a touring fairing with a high-output engine, revised gearing, adjustable suspension, premium brakes, and a more aggressive riding position. The company announced it alongside other 2024 touring models as part of the 25th anniversary of Custom Vehicle Operations. Harley-Davidson’s January 24, 2024 announcement said the new models were scheduled to reach authorized dealerships that month.
The ST’s Milwaukee-Eight 121 High Output engine is exclusive to this model in the 2024 CVO Road Glide lineup, according to Harley-Davidson. The company contrasted it with the standard 2024 CVO Road Glide’s Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121. The ST also gets lower final-drive gearing, which Harley-Davidson says is intended to improve acceleration in every gear. That describes the manufacturer’s design rationale, not an independent head-to-head test.
Chassis, braking, and riding position
The manufacturer specifies fully adjustable suspension: inverted 47 mm SHOWA 1×1 front forks and SHOWA rear shocks with remote reservoirs. A dealer-hosted specification listing says the fork and rear suspension offer preload, compression-damping, and rebound-damping adjustment. Braking hardware includes dual floating wave-style front rotors and four-piston radial front calipers, per the listing.

A six-inch riser and moto-style handlebar give the ST what Harley-Davidson describes as an aggressive, upright riding position. The bike also has six selectable ride modes: Road, Sport, Track, Track Plus, Rain, and multiple Custom modes. These are electronic settings; the available specifications do not establish comparative lap times or quantify how each mode changes performance for a particular rider.
Design and technology
The 2024 launch colors were Golden White Pearl and Raven Metallic. The announcement also lists Skyline OS infotainment, a color touchscreen, and a 500-watt amplifier powering Rockford Fosgate Stage II 6.5-inch fairing speakers. The dealer-hosted listing specifies a 12.3-inch full-color TFT display and Bluetooth connectivity for phone, media, and headsets.

How much horsepower does the 2024 CVO Road Glide ST have?
Harley-Davidson rates the Milwaukee-Eight 121 High Output V-twin at 127 hp (94 kW) at 4,900 rpm and 145 lb-ft (193 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm. Those are the manufacturer’s published specifications, not independent dynamometer measurements. The 121 designation refers to the engine’s displacement in cubic inches.
Is the CVO Road Glide ST the fastest Harley bagger?
Harley-Davidson’s January 2024 announcement called the ST the “quickest, fastest, and most-sophisticated performance bagger ever produced by Harley-Davidson.” That wording is a manufacturer claim. The available sources do not provide an independent speed test or a comparative result that verifies the ST as the fastest Harley bagger.

The company’s performance case rests on the 121 High Output engine, lower final-drive gearing, adjustable suspension, Brembo braking components, and track-oriented ride modes. Those features explain the ST’s positioning, but they do not by themselves establish a measured top speed or acceleration advantage over other baggers.
How heavy and practical is the 2024 CVO Road Glide ST?
Weight figures depend on the stated convention. Harley-Davidson’s announcement gives 800 lb (363 kg) as dry weight; the dealer-hosted listing separately labels 800 lb as shipped and 838 lb in running order. These figures use different labels and should not be treated as interchangeable measurements.
