What happened in the McKail crash?
PerthNow reported that emergency services were called at about 2:54pm on Monday, 10 February 2025, to the intersection of Lancaster Road and McGonnell Road. A car had struck a power pole, and wires were down in the area.
An Albany Career Fire and Rescue Service crew attended to make the scene safe. The crew was not required to rescue the driver.
What is known about the driver’s injuries?
St John WA described the man, who was in his 60s, as having minor injuries. He might have been taken to Albany Health Campus as a precaution, but PerthNow’s report did not confirm whether he went to hospital.

How many customers were affected by the power outage?
Western Power said 233 customers were affected by outages resulting from the crash. Repair crews were at the site, and full service was expected by 8:30pm on 10 February. That time was a forecast reported during the incident, not confirmation that power had been restored by then. The report does not establish the current status of the affected connections.
What caused the crash, and was there a police finding?
The report did not state why the car hit the pole or provide a police investigation outcome, finding or charge. It also did not confirm the driver’s eventual hospital outcome. Those details cannot be established from the incident report.
