The 2016 Mazzanti Evantra Millecavalli was unveiled with a claimed 1,000 hp and the ambition to be Italy’s most powerful production car. But the available evidence establishes a launch-era claim—not an independently verified national record. The car shown at its presentation was described by Mazzanti as a prototype still under development.
What Mazzanti claimed for the 2016 Millecavalli
At its 2016 unveiling, the Millecavalli was reported to have a 7.2-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 1,000 hp and more than 1,200 Nm of torque. Auto.it also reported claimed acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, a maximum speed of 400 km/h and a weight of 1,300 kg. These are launch-era figures, not results established by independent instrumented testing. (Auto.it, May 30, 2016, updated June 8, 2016)

| Power | 1,000 hp |
| Torque | More than 1,200 Nm |

Was it an Italian record-breaker?
It is accurate to say Mazzanti presented the Millecavalli as aiming to be the most powerful car produced in Italy. It is not established by the cited material that the car set or held a certified national record. The launch report identifies the displayed car as the first prototype, and Luca Mazzanti said it was still under development: “Pertanto la vettura esposta è il primo prototipo e quindi un esemplare in via di sviluppo, che ovviamente non può esprimere ancora al 100% tutto il suo potenziale.” In translation: “Therefore, the car on display is the first prototype and thus a vehicle under development, which obviously cannot yet express 100% of its potential.” (Auto.it)
No independent record certification or third-party test is established in the sources cited here. The careful answer is that the Millecavalli was announced as a 1,000-hp Italian record contender; calling it a proven record-holder goes beyond the evidence.

How many Millecavallis were made?
The announced production ceiling was 25 cars. Auto.it reported in 2016 that three customers had placed orders “on paper” at that point; a Mohr Group press release dated November 2, 2020, also described a maximum run of 25. Neither source confirms how many cars were ultimately built or delivered. (Auto.it; Mohr Group, November 2, 2020)

Mazzanti’s manufacturer page lists a later model, the Millecavalli R, with different engine and output figures. Its specifications should not be attributed to the 2016 launch car.
