Maserati says the GT2 Stradale’s racing roots go back to the MC20’s original technical development: the company envisaged a racing evolution from the outset, then developed the GT2 racer and its road-legal sibling in parallel. The result is a road car built from the same project lineage as Maserati’s GT2 race car—not a claim that the two are identical.
What is the Maserati GT2 Stradale?
The GT2 Stradale is Maserati’s road-legal version of the GT2 racing car. The name reflects its role: it takes the GT2 program’s performance focus onto public roads while retaining the equipment and usability Maserati says are needed for road use.
Maserati unveiled the car at The Quail during Monterey Car Week on 16 August 2024. In its February 2025 road-debut announcement, the company said production had started at its Modena plant in December 2024 and that European market availability was planned to begin in April 2025. That was a dated launch plan; it does not establish current stock or availability in every country.
How did racing figure into the project from the beginning?
According to Maserati, a racing evolution was envisaged while the MC20 was still in technical development. The company says the GT2 and GT2 Stradale were then developed in parallel by the same team, sharing technological know-how and some components. This is Maserati’s account of its development process, rather than independent confirmation of the design history.

Maserati CEO Santo Ficili described the transition this way: “From the road to the track and back again: moving from the racing GT2 to its road version was a natural step, to epitomise our brand’s performance.”

The available figures do not support a full technical, component-by-component comparison with the racer. Maserati’s everyday-use and equipment descriptions are manufacturer claims, not independent assessments of comfort or practicality.

What engine and performance does Maserati claim?
Maserati’s February 2025 press kit specifies a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo, 90-degree Nettuno V6 producing 640 CV (471 kW) and 720 Nm. For the same specification, Maserati lists a top speed of 324 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds.
These are company-published specifications, not independently measured test results. Maserati’s February 2025 US-market presentation used different rounded units—631 HP (471 kW), 201 mph and 0–60 mph in 2.8 seconds. The figures above use the press kit’s metric presentation; unit conversions and rounded regional figures should not be read as separate test measurements.

How many GT2 Stradales will Maserati make?
Maserati describes the GT2 Stradale series as limited to 914 units, linking the number to the year the company was founded, 1914. This is the manufacturer’s stated production-series figure; it should not be interpreted as a count of completed deliveries.

The Stradale is presented by Maserati as a road-legal model, with everyday journeys and driver aids, cameras and parking sensors among the road-use features the company cites. Those descriptions indicate the intended balance, but they do not establish how comfortable or convenient the car is in real-world use.

Maserati’s 2025 Experience Program brochure lists a GT2 Stradale program at the Vallelunga circuit. The brochure establishes that the program was listed, not that dates or places are currently available.
