News reports said a 20-year-old Meadow Springs man faced driving, hit-and-run and drug-related charges after an alleged collision injured an 18-year-old pedestrian on Mandurah Terrace on 1 December 2025. The reports listed a court appearance for 11 December 2025, but a later appearance or outcome has not been verified.
What was reported about the Mandurah Terrace incident?
PerthNow reported that at about 12:30 p.m. on 1 December 2025, 18-year-old TJ Wells was trying to cross Mandurah Terrace when a car allegedly crossed onto the wrong side of the road and hit him from behind. The report said CCTV captured the incident. PerthNow’s 8 December report described the vehicle as a car; Coast FM’s 5 December report identified it as a white Toyota RAV4 and said the driver allegedly continued northbound without stopping to help.
What injuries did the teenager suffer?
Both reports said Wells was taken to Peel Health Campus. PerthNow reported that he was later discharged with minor injuries, including a gash to his head, scratches and bruising. Coast FM described a head gash and grazes and reported non-life-threatening injuries.
What charges were reported?
PerthNow reported on 8 December that Mandurah Detectives had charged a 20-year-old man from Meadow Springs. Its list included three counts of no authority to drive; doing an act causing bodily harm; failing to stop and ensure assistance was received after an incident occasioning bodily harm; failing to report an incident occasioning bodily harm; possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply; possession of MDMA; six counts of offering to sell or supply a prohibited drug; disorderly conduct in a lockup; and obstructing police.

Coast FM’s 5 December report used different wording for some charges, including describing one as “intent to harm.” No court document was located to resolve the difference, so the lists should be understood as media reports of allegations, not a confirmed court record. The charge descriptions do not establish that any allegation was proved.
What is known about the court status?
Both reports said the man was due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on 11 December 2025. Coast FM reported that he had been remanded in custody. That listed date has passed; the available reports do not establish whether the appearance occurred, what plea was entered, whether there were later hearings, or the outcome. His current court status is unverified.

What the general WA drug-driving guidance does—and does not—say
The case reports include drug-related charges, but do not establish that the man drove with drugs in his system or was impaired. Separately, the WA Road Safety Commission’s general guidance distinguishes offences involving specified drugs detected in oral fluid or blood from the more serious offence of drug-impaired driving. The Commission identifies cannabis, ecstasy, methamphetamine and cocaine among specified drugs. That general explanation is not evidence about the allegations in this case.
