A fire broke out at T. A. Auto Electrical & Air Conditioning on Marshall Road in Malaga, Western Australia, shortly after midday on Saturday, 21 May 2022. The shop owner, who was reportedly alone inside, survived and was taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
Where and when the fire happened
PerthNow reported that firefighters were called shortly after midday to T. A. Auto Electrical & Air Conditioning, on Marshall Road near Bellenfin Drive in Malaga. Its account was published by Daryna Zadvirna on 21 May 2022 at 3:39 pm: PerthNow’s report.
What happened to the owner
The owner was reportedly the only person in the building. He tried to put out the fire with a hose, then St John Ambulance took him to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation. The report said he survived. His sister told The West Australian that he was okay and characterized the fire as an accident; that was her account, not a published investigative finding.
Fire response and what is known about the cause
PerthNow reported that firefighters extinguished the blaze within half an hour. That duration describes this incident only, not a general response-time measure.

The cause was not established in the report. It said investigators were expected to probe what started the fire; no later investigative finding is established in the available reporting. The West Australian search result identified a related report but added no independent incident details in its accessible article view.
