That is far below the 90,000 vehicles the company’s 2021 merger presentation projected it would sell in 2024—but the two figures describe different things: one was a management sales-volume forecast, the other an actual production count.
What Lucid projected for 2024
A July 13, 2021 investor presentation filed with the SEC showed management projections, dated May 13, 2021, of 90,000 total vehicle sales in 2024. The forecast consisted of 41,000 luxury sedans and 49,000 SUVs. The presentation described the figures as forward-looking and warned that actual results could differ materially; it said the projections were illustrative, not a guarantee or prediction on which readers should rely.
That 90,000 figure was projected sales volume. It was not a promise, an actual result, or a target for factory capacity.
How many vehicles Lucid produced and delivered
In February 2024, Lucid set a production target of approximately 9,000 vehicles for the year, according to TechCrunch’s contemporaneous report. The company reiterated approximately 9,000 as its expected 2024 production in its November 7, 2024 third-quarter release.

Lucid later reported 9,029 vehicles produced and 10,241 delivered during calendar 2024. In its February 25, 2025 results release, the company said production was “in line with the 2024 annual production guidance of approximately 9,000 vehicles.” Lucid’s full-year results give the final reported totals.

Why the two 90,000 figures are easy to confuse
Lucid also reported that expansion activities in 2024 brought installed annual capacity at its AMP-1 factory to 90,000 vehicles. That is a capacity figure, not the number produced in 2024 and not the 2021 sales forecast. Lucid’s 2024 Form 10-K identifies AMP-1 as its Arizona assembly plant for the Air and Gravity.

Installed capacity describes what a facility is equipped to produce annually; it does not say how many vehicles were actually built or sold in a particular year. The matching 90,000 values therefore refer to separate measures.

The simple contrast is striking: Lucid’s reported 2024 production was about one-tenth of the 90,000 sales volume projected in 2021. But that is not a like-for-like forecast hit rate: production counts vehicles built, while the earlier projection concerned sales. The available figures do not establish a single reason for the gap or show how much any one factor, such as demand, contributed.

Nor do annual unit totals by themselves establish Lucid’s overall financial or operating condition. In its January 6, 2025 production-and-delivery announcement, Lucid said these figures are only one measure of operating performance and should not be relied on as the sole indicators of quarterly financial results, which depend on a variety of factors. The company’s announcement makes that limitation explicit.
