Among the 2025 electric cars documented here, the Lucid Air Grand Touring XR AWD with 19-inch wheels has the highest supported range figure: 512 miles on the U.S. EPA listing. The same trim with 20-inch wheels is listed at 480 miles. Those are configuration-specific EPA estimates—not a guarantee of how far a driver will travel—and this comparison is not a complete ranking of every 2025 EV on sale.
Which 2025 electric car has the longest range?
The 2025 Lucid Air Grand Touring XR AWD with 19-inch wheels is listed at 512 miles of electric range by the U.S. EPA’s vehicle listing. With 20-inch wheels, the listed estimate is 480 miles—a 32-mile difference for the same trim and drivetrain. The listing gives each configuration a 13-hour charge time on 240V power.
These figures are tied to the exact configurations shown in the EPA ENERGY STAR vehicle listing. “Longest range” can change with trim, drivetrain, and wheel setup; the available figures here do not establish a definitive ranking across all 2025 electric cars.
2025 Lucid Air range by trim
Lucid’s July 16, 2024 announcement gave EPA-estimated ranges for three 2025 Air trims. The Grand Touring’s 512-mile figure is also recorded for the specific 19-inch-wheel configuration in the EPA listing; Lucid’s announcement figures for the other trims are manufacturer-reported EPA estimates.

| 2025 Lucid Air trim | Range figure | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| Grand Touring XR AWD | 512 miles with 19-inch wheels; 480 miles with 20-inch wheels | EPA ENERGY STAR listing for the specified configurations. |
| Touring | Up to 406 miles | Lucid-announced EPA estimate; the cited announcement does not specify the wheel configuration for this maximum. |
| Pure | 420 miles | Lucid-announced EPA estimate for the 2025 Air Pure. |
Lucid described the 2025 Air Pure as having an 84 kWh battery pack and achieving 5.0 miles per kWh. That is a manufacturer-reported efficiency figure, separate from the Grand Touring’s maximum-range result. Battery capacity and efficiency do not by themselves establish the range of another trim or vehicle. Details and the original estimates are in Lucid’s July 16, 2024 announcement.
How far can a 2025 electric car go on one charge?
For the specific 2025 Air Grand Touring XR AWD configurations listed by the EPA, the answer is 480 or 512 miles per charge, depending on whether the car has 20-inch or 19-inch wheels. Lucid’s announcement gives up to 406 miles for the Touring and 420 miles for the Pure. These are standardized estimates for comparing vehicles, not promises of distance in every trip or condition.
Actual range can differ with wheel and tire selection, driving style, traffic, accessories, and outside temperature. BMW identifies these factors on its 2025 iX technical-data page. The EPA listing and manufacturer announcements cited here do not provide real-world test results for these cars, so they should not be read as independently verified road-trip distances.
How the BMW iX figures compare—and why they are not a full ranking
BMW’s 2025 technical page shows estimated ranges of 318–341 miles for one iX xDrive60 configuration grouping and 279–312 miles for xDrive45. BMW describes these as estimates based on preliminary tests against EPA procedures and warns that new model-year figures may not yet be EPA-certified. Its page also notes that EPA publishes a blended average across wheel and tire combinations, which can differ from the manufacturer’s presented range.

The iX figures offer context for how range and configuration can be presented differently; they do not establish a market-wide rank against the Lucid Air or every other 2025 EV. The evidence here covers only these documented models and configurations, not a complete catalog of cars on sale.

A range estimate answers how far a vehicle is expected to travel on a charge under the applicable test methodology. Efficiency describes energy use. The EPA’s 2025 Automotive Trends Report lists the Lucid Air Pure RWD at 144.8 mpg-equivalent in a preliminary manufacturer-estimated real-world fuel-economy table. That is an efficiency metric, not an electric-range figure, and it should not be compared directly with miles of range. The report, published in February 2026, is available from the U.S. EPA.

What to check when comparing electric-car range
- Exact configuration: Match the model year, trim, drivetrain, and wheel size to the range figure. The listed Grand Touring configurations differ by 32 miles.
- Body style and space: The Air is a sedan and the iX is an SUV. Passenger and cargo needs may matter as much as the headline range.
- Estimate versus use: Treat EPA estimates as a consistent comparison point, not as a guarantee of trip distance. Conditions and equipment affect the result.
- Charging information: The EPA listing gives the two cited Grand Touring configurations a 13-hour 240V charge time. That figure alone does not provide a full comparison of charging speed, networks, or access among models.
- Price date and scope: Lucid’s July 2024 announcement listed U.S. starting prices of $110,900 for Grand Touring, $78,900 for Touring, and $69,900 for Pure. Lucid stated that those prices excluded taxes, title, license, options, destination, and documentation fees. They are historical announcement prices, not current quotes or a current cross-brand price comparison.
What Lucid’s 2025 range announcement does—and does not—show
Lucid’s announcement presents the Air lineup’s range and efficiency as evidence of the company’s position in the EV market. It quotes CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson saying, “The advancements introduced across the Lucid Air lineup for 2025 further cement our leadership position,” a company executive’s promotional statement rather than independent validation. The EPA-listed 512-mile figure supports a specific configuration’s estimated range; it does not, by itself, prove a broader leadership claim.
