Longbow calls them “Featherweight Electric Vehicles” and describes the pair as the world’s first in that category; the available sources do not independently verify a universal first-of-kind claim. The company lists starting prices of £84,995 for the Speedster and £64,995 for the Roadster, with production planned to begin in late 2026 and 2027 respectively.
What are Longbow’s Featherweight Electric Vehicles?
“Featherweight Electric Vehicle” (FEV) is Longbow’s term for its lightweight electric sports cars. The company’s first two models are the Speedster, an open-top two-seater, and the Roadster, a more enclosed design that Longbow presents as better suited to everyday and long-distance use. Longbow introduced both under its own “world’s first” framing; that claim should be understood as the manufacturer’s description, not an independently established category first.
At the March 2025 debut, Longbow CEO Daniel Davey described the aim as “a more driver-oriented, featherweight, electric sportscar – one that is attainable and accessible for those who love driving and the places it takes them,” as quoted by New Atlas. That is the company’s stated ambition; it is not an independent assessment of the cars’ performance or value.
How do the Speedster and Roadster compare?
The figures below are published by Longbow, not independent test results. WLTP range is an estimate, and production timing is a plan.

How do reservations work?
Longbow accepts reservations through its website and says a reservation secures a place in a limited production run. Its FAQ states that reservation payments are refundable under the posted terms: cancellation within 14 days receives a full refund, while refunds after that period are reduced by actual payment-processing costs. Deposit amounts have varied by model and edition, so review the live reservation terms for the specific car before paying; do not assume a deposit amount or policy from an earlier listing will still apply.

Longbow says the cars use an 800V system intended to enable rapid charging and that they are engineered and assembled in the UK. The company information reviewed does not specify a connector type, an independently measured charging rate, or compatible third-party charging equipment. Buyers should seek vehicle-specific charging details from Longbow rather than infer charger compatibility from the voltage claim.
