This guide explains the LH100 display described in the 2018 LH100 Number 2 Communication Protocol manual: its button controls, settings, wire labels, and error-code list. It does not establish that every display sold as “LH100” fits every scooter. The manual specifies DC 24V, 36V, or 48V operation and warns that the display may be programmed for a particular controller.
What this LH100 manual covers
The source is a six-page document titled “DISPLAY INSTRUCTION FOR LH100 NUMBER 2 COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL,” updated September 18, 2018. Its stated scope is an electric-scooter display using protocol 2. It describes a UART connection and a display that can show speed, battery level, error code, odometer, and single-trip distance. Speed can be displayed in MPH or km/h.
This is a revision-specific reference, not a universal specification for every LH100-labeled unit. A separate LH-100 LCD manual describes a different device and gives a different voltage range. The model name alone therefore cannot establish compatibility.
Check compatibility before installing or replacing a display
Match the display to the scooter’s actual controller and harness before connecting it. The protocol-2 manual says the display may be programmed for a particular controller and that “The display settings and controller wiring may be updated.” It also notes that the controller and display should be compatible.

- Voltage: The protocol-2 manual specifies DC 24V, 36V, or 48V working voltage. The separate LH-100 manual lists 24V, 36V, 48V, 52V, and 60V for its own product. Do not use one document’s range to infer the other display’s rating.
- Connector and pinout: Compare the scooter/controller documentation and harness labels. A matching plug shape does not establish that pin assignments match.
- Protocol and programming: Confirm the controller supports the display’s communication protocol and programming.
- What is included: Establish whether a listing is for the display alone or includes a throttle or other controls.
- Seller fit evidence: Ask for confirmation against the exact scooter and controller model; review the return terms if compatibility is uncertain.
The separate LH-100 manual describes a five-pin connection and says to switch the scooter off before installation, but it does not prove that its display fits the protocol-2 unit or a given scooter. If the controller, harness, or pinout is unidentified, use the exact scooter/controller documentation or consult a qualified technician rather than experimenting with connections.

These assignments belong to that manual’s protocol and revision. Do not connect wires based on color alone: verify the controller documentation and actual harness labels first. Incorrect wiring can damage components.
Button operation and entering settings
The manual describes the following controls. Button behavior can vary with firmware, so treat these instructions as specific to the protocol-2 revision.

- Power: Press and hold to switch the display on or off. A short press cycles through ODO, TRIP, and VOL.
- Mode: A short press switches gear.
- Settings: The manual describes entering the setting interface by inputting “6666.” Within the interface, MODE moves through data and POWER changes a value. It describes saving and exiting with the buttons, or automatic exit after eight seconds.
The document also includes passcode instructions, but does not establish that the same entry method applies to every LH100 firmware or protocol variant. If the controls do not match, do not assume that a different sequence is safe for your scooter.
Settings listed in the protocol-2 manual
The manual lists the following parameters. These are not recommendations or universal settings: some functions may be unavailable or unopened for a particular controller, and changing voltage or current without confirming the scooter and controller ratings can be unsafe.

The parameter list’s P03 options include 60V even though the manual’s general working-voltage specification says DC 24V, 36V, or 48V. Treat the menu entry as a listed parameter, not proof that every protocol-2 display or scooter supports 60V. Confirm the exact display and controller ratings before making a voltage selection. The manual also says speed calculation depends on wheel/rim size and motor hall-sensor magnetic count, so incorrect values can affect the displayed speed.
