GoodCarBadCar’s U.S. small- and compact-luxury-SUV sales compilation reports the following year-to-date totals through September:

The X3’s reported lead is 9,980 vehicles. The figures and year-over-year changes are from GoodCarBadCar’s 2026 U.S. small-luxury-SUV sales table, which lists September as its latest model-level month.
How the September and Q3 figures compare
The monthly and quarterly numbers provide context for the nine-month ranking, but they cover different periods and should not be confused with year-to-date totals.

All model-level figures in the table are reported by GoodCarBadCar. The Q3 comparison shows both models above their Q3 2025 totals, with the X3 posting the larger reported year-over-year increase.
What the sales figures do—and do not—show
This is a U.S. comparison, not a global ranking, and the 2026 result is only through September. GoodCarBadCar describes its page as a ranking of small and compact luxury SUVs, with tables updated as monthly data is reported; it also notes that some models do not yet have Q3 figures in its data. The tracked list should therefore not be treated as a complete census of every luxury SUV sale.

BMW of North America and Toyota Motor North America, through the Lexus USA Newsroom, published their Q3 2026 U.S. sales releases on October 1, 2026. Those releases establish the reporting context and timing, but their main sales tables report brand totals rather than the X3-versus-NX model comparison.
