By December, Lexus had announced the same vehicle under a new official concept name: Lexus LFA Concept, a battery-electric sports car concept. Lexus has not confirmed it as a production car or published a price, range, or performance figures in the official releases cited here.
What is the Lexus Sport Concept?
Lexus first showed the wide, low two-door concept at The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering, in Carmel, California, on August 15, 2025. The company described it as a design vision for a next-generation sports car, not as a production model. Lexus’s original announcement called the form a blend of dynamic and emotional elements.
The vehicle’s current official concept name is Lexus LFA Concept. In its December 5, 2025 announcement, Lexus described it as a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) sports car concept and said its exterior and interior had been shown earlier as the Lexus Sport Concept at Monterey Car Week and the Japan Mobility Show. The change in name does not itself confirm a production successor to the LFA.
Why is the concept associated with the GR GT and GR GT3?
Lexus says the LFA Concept was developed alongside Toyota Gazoo Racing’s GR GT and GR GT3, with shared priorities of a low center of gravity, low weight with high rigidity, and aerodynamic performance. Lexus says the concept explores what is distinctive about BEVs within that broader development approach. The company also describes an all-aluminum body frame.

The vehicles have different stated roles: Lexus identifies the LFA as a BEV sports car concept; Toyota’s UK Lexus media release describes the GR GT as a new GR flagship sports car and the GR GT3 as a customer race car based on the GR GT. Their development relationship does not establish that they share a powertrain or specifications, and Lexus has not provided LFA Concept performance data for a direct comparison. Toyota and Lexus’s announcement discusses the shared development philosophy.
What are the LFA Concept’s dimensions?
Lexus lists these as manufacturer-estimated specifications:

What does Lexus say about the cockpit?
Lexus describes its intended driver experience as “Discover Immersion,” with a driver-centered cockpit and an ideal driving position. The company says the steering is designed to avoid hand regripping and the switches are arranged for blind-touch operation. Those are manufacturer descriptions of the concept’s design intent, not independently tested claims about a production car.

Is the Lexus LFA Concept a luxury GT car?
“Luxury GT” is not the classification used in the cited Lexus announcements. Lexus calls the vehicle a sports car concept. Its low, wide two-door shape may invite comparisons with grand tourers, but the manufacturer has not confirmed a GT designation or described the concept as a production luxury car.

The official releases cited here do not establish production timing, a price, driving range, motor configuration, power output, acceleration, or top speed. The BEV label confirms the concept’s battery-electric category, but not its detailed powertrain. Until Lexus publishes further specifications or a production announcement, those details remain unknown.
