These are sourced highlights, not a complete equipment ledger for every model year. Where a change applied to a particular drivetrain or configuration, that qualification matters.
2013: Fourth-generation redesign
The redesigned US GS 350 used a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 306 horsepower. Lexus highlighted a new suspension, Drive Mode Select, and available Variable Gear Ratio Steering. 2014: Eight-speed automatic for rear-wheel drive GS 350

2017: Lexus Safety System+ becomes standard
Lexus made Lexus Safety System+ standard for 2017 GS models. Its announced features were Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Intelligent High Beam, and Full Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Where the GS 450h and GS F fit
GS 450h: the hybrid branch

How to interpret the year labels
Lexus’s global chronology and regional model-year naming do not line up as a single universal calendar. For example, Lexus records a fourth-generation world premiere in 2011 and sales in 2012, while its US launch material describes the redesigned car as a 2013 model. Lexus UK’s timeline is valuable for European events, but it should not be treated as a US specification list. Across all generations, engines, equipment, and trims could differ by market, drivetrain, and configuration.
For a specific used GS, verify the model year, market, engine, trim, and drivetrain against that vehicle’s original specification or VIN-specific documentation. The milestones here identify the major documented developments, but official Lexus sources do not establish every equipment or powertrain change for every GS year in every country.
