What happened in the Lancelin sand dunes crash?
Western Australia Police reported that the crash occurred at about 1:05pm on Sunday, 6 November 2022. The rider was a 48-year-old man. Police said it appeared his orange and black KTM motorcycle struck a rocky outcrop and crashed. The police account does not establish why the motorcycle struck the outcrop. What was the emergency response?
A friend called St John WA and gave the rider emergency first aid. Police were nearby; after a member of the public alerted them, officers attended and gave first aid until St John WA personnel arrived. The man could not be revived and died at the scene, police said.

What did police say about the investigation?
Western Australia Police said in their 7 November 2022 release: “A report will be prepared for the Coroner.” The retrieved reports provide no later coronial finding or outcome.
