What changes in the Urus Performante?
Lamborghini presents the Performante as the sportier evolution of the Urus. Its changes concentrate on weight, chassis setup and aerodynamic details rather than a larger engine. The manufacturer’s specifications and claims are useful for understanding the package, but they do not establish how much more comfortable or capable it feels in independent real-world driving.

Less weight, but the figure is dry weight
Lamborghini says the Performante is 47 kg lighter than its predecessor. Its 2024 brochure lists a dry weight of 2,157 kg; dry weight is not curb weight, so the two figures should not be treated as the vehicle’s ready-to-drive mass. The weight-saving measures Lamborghini identifies include carbon-fiber components such as the bonnet, roof and wider wheel arches, along with a titanium exhaust. Lamborghini’s model specifications and its 2024 brochure provide the respective claims and weight figure.

The listed equipment includes active chassis systems, torque vectoring, rear-wheel steering and a wider track, paired with a sportier suspension calibration. Lamborghini also offers Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires as an optional high-performance choice. That option is not a universal recommendation for daily driving: exact fitment depends on the vehicle configuration, and the available specifications do not establish current regional availability or how the tires perform in ordinary use.

Aerodynamic changes
The Performante gets front air curtains and a rear carbon-fiber spoiler with side fins. Lamborghini claims the aerodynamic update improves efficiency by 10 percent and increases downforce by 38 percent. Those are manufacturer figures, not independently measured results, and the published material does not specify a real-world fuel-economy gain from the efficiency claim.
How fast is it, and what does its engine deliver?
The Performante uses a 3,996 cm³ twin-turbocharged V8. Lamborghini rates it at 666 CV (490 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 850 Nm of torque. The company lists a 0–100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 306 km/h. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. Lamborghini’s model page gives the engine and performance figures.

Which drive modes does it have?
The ANIMA selector offers five modes. Rally is the addition most closely associated with the Performante’s sharper brief; Lamborghini describes it for low-grip surfaces. Mode names alone do not establish how the SUV behaves in a given condition, so drivers should choose settings for the surface and remain within safe limits.

Is “more sensible” a fair description?
Only in a limited sense. Lamborghini describes the Performante as retaining the Urus’s versatility, and the 2024 brochure result lists seating for four or five. But the information available here does not establish day-to-day comfort, cargo practicality, ownership affordability or real-world economy. The 47 kg reduction is relative to the predecessor, while the brochure’s 2,157 kg figure is dry weight; neither turns the vehicle into a lightweight SUV.
Fuel figures also need their test labels. Lamborghini’s model page lists combined fuel economy of 16 MPG under EPA labeling. Its 2024 brochure gives combined consumption of 14.1 L/100 km and CO₂ emissions of 320 g/km under WLTP. These are manufacturer figures from different test regimes, not directly interchangeable readings or predictions of what an individual driver will achieve. Who is the Performante for?
The case for the Performante is strongest for a buyer who wants the Urus concept with a more overtly performance-focused setup: less weight by Lamborghini’s comparison, added chassis and aero changes, and a low-grip Rally mode alongside road and configurable settings. Whether those changes make it a better daily vehicle is not settled by manufacturer specifications. Comfort, real-world usability, running costs and current market pricing require evidence beyond the published figures cited here.
