The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is a 20-car, track-only special built around extreme weight reduction—not a conventional road-going supercar. Lamborghini lists a curb weight of 999 kg (2,202 lb), including its V10 and permanent all-wheel drive, and says the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. Its reported €1.8 million price is the original factory price, not a verified current resale value.
Lamborghini Sesto Elemento specifications
Lamborghini’s official technical page lists the Sesto Elemento’s weight, power-to-weight ratio and acceleration. Its 2019 retrospective supplies the power and top-speed figures.
| Specification | Published figure |
|---|---|
| Curb weight | 999 kg (2,202 lb), including the V10 power unit and permanent all-wheel drive — Automobili Lamborghini, undated technical page, accessed 2026. |
| Power-to-weight ratio | 1.75 kg/CV — Automobili Lamborghini, undated technical page, accessed 2026. |
| Power | 570 CV — Automobili Lamborghini, 2019 retrospective. |
| Acceleration | 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds — Automobili Lamborghini, undated technical page, accessed 2026. Top Gear’s period report gives the equivalent 0–62 mph time as 2.5 seconds. |
| Top speed | Over 300 km/h — Automobili Lamborghini, 2019 retrospective. |
| Drive and intended use | Permanent all-wheel drive; track use only, according to Automobili Lamborghini. |
These are published specifications, not results from an independent road test. Lamborghini reports power in CV, while Top Gear’s 2010 report gives 562 bhp. CV and bhp are different units, so those values should not be treated as identical. The 999 kg figure is explicitly curb weight; it should not be compared directly with another car’s dry weight.
What makes the Sesto Elemento different?
Carbon fiber is central to the design
Lamborghini says the monocoque and frame, main suspension elements, wheels and driveshaft are carbon fiber. The body is a plastic and carbon-fiber composite finished with a glossy coating containing reflective micro-crystals. The company says its Advanced Composites Research Center worked with Boeing laboratories in Seattle on the body material.

The name refers to carbon, the sixth element in the periodic table. The construction choices serve the car’s defining goal: minimizing mass while retaining a V10 and permanent all-wheel drive.
A stripped-down cockpit and distinctive details
The cabin puts low weight ahead of the equipment and comfort expected in a road car. Lamborghini describes a minimal cockpit, with cushioning fixed directly to the bodywork instead of conventional seats. Outside, the two upward-facing hexagonal engine intakes, large rear wing and Pyrosic glass-ceramic exhaust outlets set the car apart.

How fast is it?
Lamborghini quotes 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and a top speed above 300 km/h. The unusually low stated curb weight is a key part of the Sesto Elemento’s performance proposition, alongside its V10 and all-wheel-drive layout. The published figures do not, by themselves, establish how the car performs in a particular track test or against another model under comparable conditions.
Is the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento street legal?
No: Lamborghini describes the factory Sesto Elemento as not street-approved and built solely for track use. Its 2011 production announcement likewise says the cars were destined only for track use. That is the appropriate general answer for factory examples; it does not establish the legal status of a specific modified car in a particular jurisdiction.

How many were made, and when?
Lamborghini says the Sesto Elemento debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, announced a limited production run in 2011 and ultimately produced 20 examples, according to its 2019 retrospective. Treat 20 as the manufacturer’s stated figure rather than independently confirmed delivery records: a Car Collector International buyer’s guide notes that the final total has not been confirmed in factory records.
Original price and current value
Automobili Lamborghini’s 2019 retrospective reports that each of the 20 cars sold for €1.8 million. This is a historical factory price, not a present-day market valuation. A separate 2013 specialist history reports €2 million, illustrating that period accounts differed; neither figure tells buyers what an example would cost now.

No verified current asking price or transaction figure is established by the available market information. A specialist buyer’s guide describes checking sale data against auction-house records, but does not provide a verified Sesto Elemento transaction price. Without a substantiated current sale or listing, a resale range would be speculative.

The Sesto Elemento’s appeal is the coherence of its brief: carbon-fiber-intensive construction, a remarkably low published curb weight, a V10 and permanent all-wheel drive, all in a car intended for the circuit. Its compromises follow the same logic. The minimal cabin is not designed around road-car comfort, and the factory did not approve it for street use.

That makes the Sesto Elemento easier to understand as a limited-production engineering statement than as an everyday Lamborghini. Its specifications and rarity are compelling, but they should not be mistaken for evidence of road usability or a known current market price.
