The Lamborghini Centenario is a 2016, 40-car limited-production supercar built to mark the 100th anniversary of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini’s birth. It pairs a naturally aspirated 770-CV V12 with carbon-fiber construction and active aerodynamic and chassis systems. Lamborghini’s historical launch price was €1.75 million; that figure is not a current market valuation, and the available sources do not establish today’s resale prices.
What was the Lamborghini Centenario built to do?
Lamborghini presented the Centenario in 2016 as a tribute to Ferruccio Lamborghini, born in 1916. The company described the project as a chance to explore new design and engineering ideas in a limited-run car. In its 13 August 2019 account, Lamborghini also reproduced Ferruccio’s words, “This was the perfect moment in which I finally decided to create the perfect car.” The source does not date that statement or say it was about the Centenario, so it is best understood as part of the founder’s story rather than a quote about this model. Lamborghini’s Centenario history provides the company’s account.
How many Centenarios were made?
Lamborghini says it made 40 Centenarios: 20 Coupés and 20 Roadsters. The company reported that all were sold before the car’s official debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2017. This is a manufacturer-reported production and sales history, not a current count of surviving or publicly available cars. The official Centenario model page identifies the model and its specifications.
Coupé and Roadster

| Coupé | 20 examples, according to Lamborghini | Lamborghini’s historical account gives €1.75 million for the 40-car series; it does not establish a separate Coupé price. The manufacturer lists the same V12 output and acceleration figures for the Centenario. |

Which technologies shape how it drives?
The Centenario’s technical specification combines a carbon-fiber structure with active chassis and aerodynamic features. Lamborghini lists a carbon-fiber monocoque and body, a three-position rear spoiler operated electronically, rear-wheel steering, and magneto-rheological active suspension. Those are manufacturer-described systems; the published figures do not by themselves establish how the car performs in an independent road or track test.
