That is a statement of the company’s product intent—not proof that the Absolut has set the world’s fastest production-car top-speed record. Koenigsegg’s published results show how quickly the car accelerates and brakes, and how fast it was traveling at the quarter- and half-mile marks; they do not document an outright maximum-speed run.
What Koenigsegg’s “fastest ever” pledge means
In its March 2020 launch announcement, Koenigsegg called the Jesko Absolut “the fastest Koenigsegg ever made” and said the company “will never endeavor to make a faster series-production road car – ever.” The wording is a pledge about Koenigsegg’s intended production-road-car lineup. It is not an independently enforceable guarantee about every future company decision, nor does it itself establish a measured top-speed record. Koenigsegg’s launch announcement described the Absolut as its speed-focused Jesko variant.
Has the Jesko Absolut set a top-speed record?
The cited official material does not establish that the Jesko Absolut has completed a maximum-speed run proving it is the fastest production car by outright top speed. Koenigsegg’s model page leaves the question open: “Time will tell.” That is materially different from reporting a measured top speed. The current Jesko Absolut page presents the car’s specifications and design focus, not a completed maximum-speed result.
Different speed claims should not be treated as interchangeable. A car’s speed at the end of a quarter-mile or half-mile is measured at a particular distance; a 0–400–0 km/h test combines acceleration and braking; an outright top-speed claim requires a maximum-speed run. The records below concern the first two categories.

What Koenigsegg has reported the car achieving
| Test | Koenigsegg-reported result | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| 0–400–0 km/h, 2024 | 27.83 seconds | Acceleration from a standstill to 400 km/h, followed by braking to a stop. |
| 0–400–0 km/h, 2025 | 25.21 seconds total: 16.77 seconds to reach 400 km/h and 8.44 seconds to stop | Acceleration and braking in one combined test. |
| Quarter-mile, June 13, 2026 | 8.54 seconds; 305 km/h (190 mph) at the finish | Elapsed time and speed at the end of a measured quarter-mile. |
| Half-mile, June 13, 2026 | 12.76 seconds; 373 km/h (232 mph) at the finish | Elapsed time and speed at the end of a measured half-mile. |
The 2024 and 2025 figures are listed on Koenigsegg’s history page. The company’s June 13, 2026 video description reports the quarter-mile and half-mile results, calls both finish speeds the fastest ever recorded for a production car, and says Racelogic verified that run. Those figures describe speeds at the end of the stated distances; they are not an outright maximum-speed record.

Koenigsegg lists a drag coefficient of 0.278 Cd and a frontal area of 1.88 m² for the Jesko Absolut. The company also states output of 1,280 bhp on regular gasoline and 1,600 bhp on E85. These specifications help explain the car’s speed-oriented design, but they do not tell us what maximum speed it has reached. Koenigsegg’s model page gives those figures.

How to read the claims
- “Fastest Koenigsegg ever made”: the manufacturer’s description and pledge about its production-road-car plans.
- 0–400–0 km/h: a combined acceleration-and-braking result, not a top-speed record.
- Quarter-mile and half-mile speeds: speeds recorded at the finish of those distances; Koenigsegg says Racelogic verified its June 2026 run.
- Fastest production car by outright top speed: not established for the Jesko Absolut by the cited official results.
