What is the reported Stinger successor?
The speculation centers on Kia’s Vision Meta Turismo concept. In a May 11, 2026 report, Autocar reported that Kia design chief Karim Habib described the concept as a prospective flagship in the spirit of the Stinger GT, with production dependent on whether costs become viable. MotorTrend’s May 12, 2026 report likewise characterized it as a possible electric-powered successor while noting the uncertainty over production.
Those are reports about a possible future vehicle, not a Kia production commitment. The cited coverage does not establish a production date, sales markets, price, final specifications, or even that a production car would carry the Stinger name. No cited Kia product announcement confirms the concept for production.
Why Kia’s hybrid plans do not confirm a hybrid Stinger
Kia’s company-wide targets provide context, but they are not model announcements. In its April 9, 2026 CEO Investor Day announcement, Kia said it aims to expand its hybrid (HEV) lineup to 13 models by 2030 and increase annual HEV sales from 690,000 in 2026 to 1.1 million in 2030. Is there a confirmed Genesis connection?
No. The reporting cited here does not establish that a future Kia successor would share a Genesis platform, components, or other engineering. A production announcement would need to answer practical questions that remain unresolved:

- Performance and usability: output, body style, and—depending on powertrain—range, fuel economy, or charging details.
- Buying information: price, launch timing, and the markets where it will be sold.
For now, the evidence supports a discontinued original Stinger and a speculative, potentially electric concept-derived successor—not a hybrid Stinger buyers can order.
