Yes—but the confirmed version is specific: Kia’s September 2026 Korean-market EV4 GT catalog lists Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) with e-ASD (Active Sound Design). Kia describes virtual engine and gear-shift sounds through the sound system, plus the sensation of virtual gear changes. That makes the concept comparable to the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N’s simulated shifting and sound features, but the published descriptions do not establish that the systems use identical hardware or software.
What the EV4 GT’s VGS and e-ASD do
Kia’s EV4 GT catalog, dated September 2026, says VGS with e-ASD “enhances driving immersion with virtual engine and gear shift sounds through the sound system, while providing a dynamic driving experience through the sensation of virtual gear shifts.” In other words, the catalog confirms simulated shift sensations and sounds; it does not describe a conventional multi-speed gearbox.
Kia’s wording confirms the feature for the EV4 GT shown in that Korean catalog. It does not establish that VGS/e-ASD is included on every EV4 trim or in every country.

The resemblance is in the driving experience Kia and Hyundai describe—not proof of shared implementation. Hyundai’s press information further says its N e-Shift simulates torque feedback and offers manual and automatic shift modes. Hyundai says IONIQ 5 N Active Sound+ changes sound with speed and throttle and uses eight internal Bose speakers and two external speakers. Those are Hyundai system details; Kia’s cited EV4 GT catalog does not specify equivalent hardware, modes or behavior.
