Kia Media lists 46.0 cu. ft. behind the second row and 21.0 cu. ft. behind the third in its 2025 U.S. specifications. The third-row figure is especially relevant when all three rows are occupied. See Kia Media’s Telluride specifications.
Sorento: three-row flexibility with a configuration-dependent second-row figure
The 2026 U.S. Sorento is listed at 12.6 cu. ft. behind the third row and 38.5–45.0 cu. ft. behind the second. Kia’s 2025 Sorento owner manual explains the range: the minimum is measured with the seatback upright at 23 degrees and the cushion back; the maximum uses a 15-degree seatback and the cushion forward. The listed maximum behind the first row is 75.5 cu. ft. Kia Media’s 2026 Sorento specifications and the Kia owner-manual portal provide the relevant figures and measurement context.

Sportage: the floor setting changes the usable volume
The 2026 U.S. Sportage’s dual-level cargo floor changes the published capacity. With the floor low, it has 39.6 cu. ft. behind the second row and 74.1 cu. ft. behind the first; with the floor high, those figures are 36.6 and 69.3 cu. ft. respectively. Check which floor position matches your setup before comparing its number with another vehicle. Kia Media’s 2026 Sportage specifications list both positions.
Seltos: compare using the low cargo-floor position
Kia Media lists 26.6 cu. ft. behind the second row and 62.8 cu. ft. behind the first for the 2026 U.S. Seltos with the cargo floor low. These figures are not a row-up capacity claim for every floor setting. See the Seltos specifications.

The cited EV9 brochures support a maximum-volume claim but do not give row-specific capacities in the passages available. Kia America’s 2026 Niro EV page gives 63.7 cu. ft. with the rear seats folded flat, but its cited page text does not establish the capacity with those seats up. - For a two-row SUV with luggage and passengers aboard: compare the behind-second-row value, not the maximum with seats folded. The available figures put Telluride ahead of Sorento, Sportage and Seltos, subject to the years and floor settings shown.
- For a three-row trip: check the behind-third-row capacity. The cited figures are 21.0 cu. ft. for Telluride and 12.6 cu. ft. for Sorento.
- For bulky cargo: the behind-first-row maximum is useful, but it describes a folded-seat configuration rather than a normal passenger-and-luggage trip.
- For a fair comparison: match the market, model year, seat position and cargo-floor setting. Do not treat an EV9 Canadian maximum or an incomplete row-up figure as directly interchangeable with U.S. row-by-row specifications.
Kia advises that cargo should be evenly distributed and secured, and not piled higher than the seatback. Kia’s Sorento specifications and comparison page gives this loading guidance.
