What is actually confirmed about a Kia Stinger replacement?

What does the 2026 successor report say?
In a May 11, 2026 report, Autocar attributed to Kia design chief Karim Habib an intention to put the Vision Meta Turismo concept into production as a new flagship in the vein of the Stinger GT S, once the price is viable. This is media reporting about a conditional production intention, not a published Kia production announcement. The report does not establish a final model name, a 2026 launch date, or which markets would get the car. Autocar, May 11, 2026
So “replacement” can refer to two separate ideas: the EV6 GT succeeding the Stinger in a flagship performance role in Europe, or a possible future flagship inspired by the Vision Meta Turismo concept. Neither establishes that Kia will launch a Stinger replacement in 2026.
How the EV6 GT and Stinger compare on confirmed figures
The figures below come from Kia’s Heritage Archive and Kia Sales Slovakia’s 2022 regional release. They describe the historical Stinger and that release’s EV6 GT specification—not a reported future concept-based car.

The two Kia accounts give different levels of precision for acceleration: the Heritage Archive uses “under” thresholds, while the 2022 regional release gives exact 0–100 km/h times for its described vehicles. They should not be treated as new successor specifications.

The cited material does not confirm a production vehicle’s final design, body style, powertrain, performance, price, or market availability. It also does not establish whether a production car would use the Stinger name. The reported price-viability condition is not a launch schedule.

If Kia announces a production model, the meaningful comparisons with the Stinger and EV6 GT will be its body style and practicality, powertrain and performance, and—if it is electric—range and charging. Price, regional availability, and Kia’s explicit confirmation of production will determine whether it is a real successor buyers can consider rather than a concept or role-based comparison.
