When and where the Kia EV4 spy shots appeared
The item titled “New Spy Shots Surface Of Kia EV4 Undergoing Testing And Development” was dated September 17, 2024, within a TopSpeed article published October 20, 2024. It described photographs of an EV4 test vehicle at the Nürburgring. These are historical development images, not evidence of a fresh sighting today. TopSpeed’s report
What the 2024 test car appeared to show
Hatchback shape and relative size
TopSpeed characterized the vehicle as a hatchback, visually smaller than the EV6 and somewhat larger than the then-upcoming EV3. The article also interpreted styling from the rear section and front bumper. Those descriptions are visual readings of a camouflaged test car, not Kia-confirmed body dimensions or design specifications. TopSpeed’s report
Battery, drive layout and production speculation
The report floated 58.3-kWh usable and 81.4-kWh battery possibilities, front-wheel drive, and production in Slovakia. It presented these as possibilities, not confirmed specifications or manufacturing details. The spy shots themselves do not establish battery capacity, drivetrain, trim, or where a particular market’s cars would be built. TopSpeed’s report

EV4 remained in Kia’s 2026 plans
Kia’s 2026 strategy continued to include EV4 in its passenger-EV lineup and regional production planning for Europe. The announcement also discussed charging-network partnerships as part of the company’s broader EV accessibility strategy; it did not establish a particular EV4 charging specification or a vehicle-specific partnership.
