The current 2025 Noslisu is a pedal-assist bicycle; the separate Noslisu e is a full-electric vehicle. Their powertrains, published range figures and Japanese licensing treatment differ.
What is the Kawasaki Noslisu?
Noslisu is Kawasaki’s family of three-wheel personal mobility vehicles, with two wheels at the front and one at the rear. Kawasaki says its proprietary steering arrangement is intended to combine three-wheel stability with bicycle-like handling. The 2025 pedal-assist model has a revised truss-style frame with a lowered center section, a step-through design, a semiupright handlebar and a Panasonic Cycle Technology center motor. Kawasaki describes the front wheels as tilting with the vehicle; these are manufacturer design claims, not independent test findings. See Kawasaki’s Noslisu overview.
Kawasaki announced three related products on May 16, 2023: the pedal-assist Noslisu, pedal-assist Noslisu cargo and full-electric Noslisu e. The initial Japanese reference prices were ¥363,000, ¥414,700 and ¥430,100, respectively; these are launch-era figures, not current prices for every model. Kawasaki framed the series for local trips and moving cargo, including in areas with limited public transit. That launch supports describing Noslisu as an expansion into compact electric mobility, but does not establish sales volume, market share, global availability or the scale of Kawasaki’s wider electrification plans. Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ May 16, 2023 announcement also presented carbon neutrality as a company aspiration, not a measured result from these vehicles.
Is the 2025 Noslisu electric or pedal assist?
The 2025 Noslisu is an electric-assist bicycle, not the full-electric Noslisu e. Kawasaki’s Japan-market listing gives it a 250 W rated-output brushless motor and a 25.2 V, 16 Ah lithium-ion battery. The battery takes approximately 4.5 hours to charge fully, according to the manufacturer. Kawasaki lists a tax-inclusive reference price of ¥398,200, excluding additional costs such as delivery or registration-related expenses. Prices and specifications may change. How is the Noslisu e different?
Noslisu e is a distinct full-electric model. Kawasaki’s current overview gives a reference price of ¥430,100 and up, and says that riders in Japan need an ordinary motor vehicle license. Those legal and pricing details are Japan-specific. Kawasaki’s detailed specification page is for the 2023 Noslisu e, so its figures below should not be assumed to describe a later model or confirm current dealer availability. Does a Noslisu need a license?
Kawasaki describes the Noslisu e as requiring an ordinary motor vehicle license in Japan. The 2025 Noslisu is described as an electric-assist bicycle. Do not apply Japan’s classification to another country: vehicle categories and licensing rules depend on local law, so check with the relevant transport authority before riding outside Japan.
