LoveFrom, the creative firm founded by former Apple design chief Jony Ive, reportedly helped Rivian refine an electric-bike project—but there is no public confirmation that Ive personally designed a finished bike or that the later Also TM-B is the same vehicle. TechCrunch reported the collaboration on June 6, 2025, citing multiple people familiar with the work; LoveFrom and Rivian declined to comment.
What TechCrunch reported about LoveFrom and Rivian
Rivian’s micromobility effort began as an internal skunkworks program in early 2022, according to TechCrunch’s June 6, 2025 report. The project was led by Chris Yu, formerly Specialized’s chief product and technology officer, and explored whether Rivian technology for electric vehicles could be adapted to a smaller, more affordable vehicle.
TechCrunch’s sources said LoveFrom joined in early 2023, after considerable project work had already taken place. A handful of its staff reportedly worked alongside Rivian designers and engineers, refining prototypes and contributing to industrial design, packaging, interface, and user-experience work. The collaboration lasted about 18 months and ended in fall 2024, the report said.
That sourcing supports saying LoveFrom helped design or refine the project. It does not establish that LoveFrom led the effort, that Ive personally designed a production model, or that either company has formally credited the firm.

What Rivian was trying to build
The early challenge was to create a modular, bike-like vehicle that retained Rivian’s design character, TechCrunch reported. Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe described the then-forthcoming vehicle as having “a seat, and there’s two wheels, there’s a screen, and there’s a few computers and a battery.” He also called it “bike-like.” Those remarks were contemporaneous descriptions, not a technical specification for a later product.
How the project became Also
TechCrunch reported that the skunkworks program grew to about 70 people and spun out as Also in 2025, with $105 million in funding from Eclipse Ventures. Those figures are attributed to that report.

Later announcements provide context for what followed, but not proof of a direct design credit. In October 2025, Rivian’s shareholder letter said Also had launched a product line including TM-B, a consumer electric bike, and TM-Q, an electric quadricycle for commercial and consumer use. Also’s press announcement called TM-B its first flagship vehicle and described it as an electric bike.
Neither the shareholder letter nor Also’s announcement, as reviewed, says that TM-B is the same vehicle as the prototypes LoveFrom worked on or credits LoveFrom with its design. The available material therefore connects the later product to the broader micromobility story, not conclusively to the specific prototype collaboration.

What is—and is not—established about the bike
The cited reporting and announcements establish a reported design collaboration and a subsequent Also electric-bike launch. They do not establish retail specifications, price, availability, or a direct LoveFrom design credit for TM-B. Treat the LoveFrom account as reporting based on unnamed sources: TechCrunch said LoveFrom and Rivian declined to comment.
