The 2017 headline referred to a transition: Jawa’s long-running 350 two-stroke identity was giving way to four-stroke motorcycles in the same nominal class. The 2017 Jawa 350 OHC, the later European JAWA 350 two-strokes and the current India-market Jawa 350 are related by name and history, but they are not one unchanged motorcycle.
What the 2017 headline meant
In 2017, the Jawa 350 OHC was presented as a four-stroke roadster meeting the Euro 4 emissions standard of that period. New Atlas’ contemporary report linked its engine and frame to Shineray’s XY400; that attribution is based on the report’s search result, so it should be treated as contemporary reporting rather than a specification confirmed here by Jawa. Euro 4 describes the model’s historical context, not a current emissions classification.
The important change was the engine cycle. Jawa’s European manufacturer page says its 350 two-stroke motorcycles were progressively replaced from 2017 by four-stroke motorcycles in the same nominal 350 cc class. The shift did not mean every later bike called a Jawa 350 was the same machine as the 2017 OHC.
Which Jawa 350 are you asking about?
| Model or family | Engine and displacement | Market and production context |
|---|---|---|
| Legacy European JAWA 350 Style, Retro and Military | Two-stroke; exact displacement and output are not stated on the cited manufacturer page. | European legacy range; progressively replaced by four-strokes from 2017. JAWA says the last 40 350 Retro motorcycles were manufactured in late 2024. |
| Jawa 350 OHC (2017) | Four-stroke; the cited contemporary report identifies it as a 350 OHC but does not establish a detailed engine specification here. | Introduced in the 2017 transition; New Atlas described it as Euro 4-compliant and attributed the engine and frame to Shineray XY400. |
| Jawa 350 (India-market model page, 2024) | 334 cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled DOHC engine with electronic fuel injection; 22.57 PS and 28.1 Nm. | India-market specifications published by Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles. The cited page does not establish availability in every country. |
What happened to the two-stroke 350?
JAWA Europe describes a gradual replacement rather than a single overnight change. Its legacy 350 Style, Retro and Military models belong to the two-stroke range; the maker says the final 40 350 Retro motorcycles were built in late 2024. That production statement is specific to the Retro model and does not mean all 350 two-stroke variants continued until then.

JAWA’s English-language page cautions that specifications can vary by country. It also says the Europe-market Series 640 is not intended for EU sales, so the appearance of a model in the manufacturer’s range should not be read as proof of local homologation or availability.
Is the current Jawa 350 a four-stroke?
Yes. The current India-market Jawa 350 specification page describes a 334 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC four-stroke engine with electronic fuel injection. Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles lists maximum power of 22.57 PS and maximum torque of 28.1 Nm for that model. These figures belong to the India-market bike described on the page, not to every motorcycle that has carried the 350 name.

The current Jawa 350 is also distinct from the Jawa 42 FJ. Mahindra’s 2024 release gives the 42 FJ’s 350 Alpha2 engine output as 29.2 PS and 29.6 Nm. The similar branding and nominal engine class do not make those specifications interchangeable.
Are parts still available for the old 350?
JAWA says replacement parts remain available for its legacy 350 Style, Retro and Military models. That is a manufacturer statement about parts support; it does not specify stock levels, delivery times, compatibility with every year or market, or a particular retailer. Owners should identify the exact variant and country when checking with the manufacturer or a parts supplier.

Where to check current model information
The official Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles product page provides the India-market Jawa 350 specifications. JAWA’s European pages cover the legacy 350 range and its market caveats. A current listing in an official product collection establishes that Jawa 350 appears in the brand’s lineup, but not that it is sold in every country or through any particular marketplace.
