The JAS Tensei is a 35-car, bespoke reinterpretation of the first-generation Honda NSX—not a new Honda model. JAS Motorsport is producing it with a carbon-fibre body styled by Pininfarina and a re-engineered, naturally aspirated V6 paired with a manual transmission. JAS says “Tensei” means “rebirth” in Japanese.
What is the JAS Tensei?
JAS Motorsport describes Tensei as a modern supercar built around the DNA of the first-generation NSX. The project takes the original car’s platform and re-engineers its underpinnings, while updating the body, cabin and mechanical package. JAS announced the name in December 2025 and calls the car an ultra-modern reinterpretation of the NSX.

The distinction matters: the Tensei is a JAS Motorsport project based on the NSX, not a newly announced Honda production model. JAS’s June 2026 announcement says the company has won more than 900 races and 100 major championship titles, and cites its 2013 FIA World Touring Car Championship Manufacturers’ title. These are company-stated credentials.

JAS’s August 2026 announcement describes the Tensei as a contemporary grand tourer inspired by the 1990s-era NSX. It says the final-production-appearance car has integrated sports seats, sculpted metal details and technical materials. The company says buyers can choose from hundreds of cockpit configurations; that is a manufacturer description, not a published count of individually specified cars or options.

What are the JAS Tensei’s published specifications?
Published figures vary by source, so the outputs should not be combined into a single specification. JAS’s official product site lists 420 bhp and 350 Nm, while Italian automotive publication Quattroruote reported 420 CV at 8,300 rpm and 414 Nm at 5,500 rpm on October 8, 2026.

The figures are not directly interchangeable: the two sources use different power units and publish different torque figures. Quattroruote’s 1,250 kg figure is a claimed dry weight, not a measured test result. No independent road test or instrumented performance results are established in the cited reporting.

JAS’s product site says Judd Power dismantles and re-engineers the original V6 while preserving its naturally aspirated character. The listed hardware includes six individual throttle bodies, forged pistons and connecting rods, a billet crankshaft, updated cooling, and engine management for traction control and drive modes. JAS also lists a twin-plate clutch and limited-slip differential with the manual transmission.

How many will be built, and when will it debut?
JAS announced a production limit of 35 cars in June 2026. Its August 10, 2026 release scheduled the public debut for the Paris Motor Show, October 12–18, 2026. Quattroruote separately reported a world premiere on October 8, 2026. These are differently described event dates in the available announcements; neither establishes a customer delivery schedule.
How much does the JAS Tensei cost?
No confirmed price is given in the available reporting. Quattroruote described pricing as confidential, so a reliable purchase figure cannot be stated. The cited sources also do not confirm customer delivery timing.
