The allegations have not been established by a court: the available report describes a complaint, not a ruling on causation, defect, or liability.
What the Georgia lawsuit reportedly alleges
Autoblog reported on October 9, 2026, that Lolita Holloway filed suit in September 2026 in Georgia State Court of Gwinnett County after her husband, Charles Holloway Jr., died in a head-on collision. The report identifies the F-150 driver as Scott Douglas Kneiss and names the driver, Courtesy Ford, GRJ Offroad, Sport Truck, Fox Factory, and RealTruck as defendants. These details are attributed to the report’s account of the complaint; the complaint and docket have not been independently reviewed. Autoblog’s report.

According to that account, the complaint alleges that the F-150 crossed the center line, struck Holloway’s Toyota Tundra, and rode over the Tundra’s passenger cabin. It further claims the lift raised the F-150’s ride height, suspension geometry, frame rails, and crash structures beyond factory specifications and crash-compatibility zones, and that the changed suspension degraded crash-avoidance, collision-mitigation, or warning systems. Those are allegations, not findings about what happened or what caused the crash.
What the complaint says about occupant intrusion
Autoblog attributes this language to Georgia State Court of Gwinnett County court documents: “The lifted Ford F-150 overrode and bypassed the Toyota Tundra’s engineered crash protection systems and entered the occupant compartment and driver survival space of the Toyota Tundra. The lift kit caused catastrophic intrusion into the occupant survival space of the Toyota Tundra.” This is pleading language reported secondhand. It does not establish that the court accepted the claim or that the lift caused the fatality.

What has a court found—and what remains unknown
No ruling or verdict in the Georgia case is established by the available reporting. The report gives September 2026 as the filing month but provides no docket number, precise filing date, later motions, rulings, or current case status. The lift-kit manufacturer and the identity of the particular kit reportedly installed are also not established.
A separate case offers limited context, not an answer to the Georgia allegations. In Lesnik v. Duval Ford, LLC, the Florida First District Court of Appeal affirmed summary judgment for dealership defendants in a dispute involving a lifted 2008 Ford F-250. The court said the record lacked evidence that the lift kit was defective or improperly installed by the relevant subcontractor, and lacked evidence of a design defect when the truck was sold. The record also involved later modifications and uncertainty about when oversized tires were fitted. That 2016 decision concerns a different truck, crash, parties, and evidentiary record; it does not decide the Georgia case or establish that lift kits are generally safe or unsafe. The Florida appellate opinion.

Georgia lift-height law should be checked against the official text
Autoblog’s report says Georgia law prohibits suspension changes more than two inches above or below a manufacturer’s recommendation. The statute itself was not independently reviewed for this account, so that description should not be treated as a complete statement of current law, its scope, or any exceptions.

Why the distinction matters
A complaint presents one side’s claims; it is not a court’s determination of the facts. Here, the reported theory connects a six-inch lift with vehicle height and crash compatibility, as well as alleged effects on safety systems. Establishing those claims would require evidence and legal findings not supplied by the news report. No crash-risk percentage or other population statistic is established in the available material.
