The available official specifications do not support a verified top ten for Japan’s 2024 cars. Nissan’s January 2023 announcement documents one relevant example: the Japan-market 2024 GT-R was rated at 570 PS, while the GT-R NISMO was rated at 600 PS. Those figures are not enough to rank either model against nine other cars.
Why a verified top ten is not available
“Japan’s” could refer to cars sold in Japan, cars made by Japanese manufacturers, or Japanese-market versions of cars. The title also needs a consistent rule for whether limited editions, race cars and production road cars count. Without those choices—and official power specifications for the candidates—a ten-car ranking would imply comparisons the available evidence does not establish.
The figures below are for the Japan-market 2024 Nissan GT-R range announced in January 2023. Nissan described the specifications as being before homologation and said standard models were planned for the following spring, with NISMO versions planned for summer. PS is metric horsepower; it is not interchangeable with U.S. mechanical horsepower without conversion. Nissan’s current GT-R NISMO specification page gives the maximum output as 441 kW (600 PS) and identifies a NISMO-tuned 3.8-liter VR38 V6. NISMO’s history page reports maximum torque of 652 Nm. The publication dates for those two pages are not stated.

What makes the NISMO distinct
Nissan called the 2024 NISMO “the highest-performance GT-R ever”—a manufacturer characterization of the GT-R, not a claim that it ranked first among all cars sold or built in Japan. What a defensible top-ten ranking would require
A reliable list would first define the field—for example, manufacturer-built production road cars offered in Japan during model year 2024—then verify each candidate against its manufacturer’s specification or announcement. Every entry would need comparable peak-power figures, with the original unit and rpm retained; a ranking should not mix production specifications with race or modified-car outputs, or peak power with power-to-weight.
