There is also no official Type 01 MSRP in the Jaguar announcements reviewed for this article. Independent reporting has placed the future electric GT in the six-figure luxury segment, with one report citing an expected starting point of about £120,000, higher versions potentially exceeding £150,000, and U.S. expectations around $130,000. Those numbers are market estimates, not Jaguar-confirmed pricing. They should not be used to calculate financing or assume a U.S. sticker price.
The eventual price could vary substantially by market because of equipment, taxes, tariffs, delivery costs, incentives, and the final trim structure. Jaguar will need to publish regional pricing before buyers can make a meaningful comparison with other electric grand tourers.
Type 00 concept design and specifications

- A glazed roof designed to harmonize with the body
- A glassless tailgate
- A highly stylized two-seat cabin
- Interior materials including brass, travertine, and textiles
These are attributes of the concept shown by Jaguar, not a final Type 01 equipment list. Butterfly doors, a glassless tailgate, 23-inch wheels, and the two-seat interior may be difficult or impractical to carry into a homologated four-door production GT. Jaguar has not confirmed which of them will reach customers.
Jaguar’s earlier electric range and charging targets
When Jaguar unveiled Type 00, it connected the future production GT to the company’s Jaguar Electric Architecture, or JEA. Jaguar engineers projected up to 430 miles of EPA range, 770 km under WLTP, and as much as 200 miles of additional range in 15 minutes of rapid charging. The announcement also made clear that official figures would depend on final testing of the production model. Jaguar’s original Type 00 announcement is the source for those targets.
Those figures must be described as earlier Jaguar projections for the future production GT, not as certified Type 00 or Type 01 ratings. EPA and WLTP are different testing standards, so their numbers should not be compared as if they were interchangeable. The 200-mile figure is additional projected range during a rapid-charge session, not a universal promise for every charger, battery state, temperature, or market.
Jaguar Type 01: confirmed powertrain information
Jaguar’s May 13, 2026 announcement confirms that Type 01 will use a tri-motor powertrain producing more than 1,000 PS and more than 1,300 Nm of torque. Jaguar has not yet published the complete engineering specification sheet. The following details remained unconfirmed at the research cutoff:
- Battery capacity and usable battery capacity
- Final EPA range
- Final WLTP range
- 0–60 mph or 0–100 km/h acceleration time
- Top speed
- Curb weight
- Peak charging power and charging curve
- Production wheel and tire sizes
- Trim levels and standard equipment
- Final dimensions, cargo capacity, and passenger-space measurements
More than 1,000 PS and 1,300 Nm indicate a very high-performance electric GT, but they do not by themselves establish acceleration, range, or everyday usability. Those outcomes depend on battery size, vehicle mass, traction, thermal management, gearing, tires, and software.
Formula E-derived technology
Jaguar has also said that Type 01 prototypes use Formula E-derived control software and silicon-carbide-powered inverters. The company says the track-developed technology is intended to improve regenerative braking, range, and fast-charging capability. That describes the engineering direction and intended benefits; it is not a finalized, independently certified specification. Jaguar discussed the prototype development during its Type 01 Monaco circuit announcement.

Can you buy a Type 00?
No. Type 00 is not available to buy, reserve, lease, or test-drive as a production vehicle. Jaguar has displayed the concept at events and brand exhibitions, but the company’s official Type 00 page labels it a non-production vehicle.

Any third-party listing offering a Type 00 deposit, reservation, allocation, or delivery should be treated as unverified. It cannot represent a normal Jaguar production-car purchase unless Jaguar itself publishes a specific program.
When will the Type 01 be revealed?
Jaguar’s official communications in May and June 2026 said Type 01 would be revealed later in 2026. As of August 11, 2026, Jaguar had not completed the full production reveal in the material reviewed. A third-party report citing automotive-industry reporting expected an October 2026 debut, but October was not confirmed in Jaguar’s own announcement and should be treated as a reported expectation rather than a firm date.
Jaguar also showed a Type 01 prototype at the Monaco circuit on May 15, 2026. When can U.S. buyers order one?
No official U.S. ordering date, reservation program, dealer allocation, delivery date, or market-by-market launch schedule had been published by the research cutoff. The phrase revealed later in 2026 should not be interpreted as available for delivery later in 2026.
Before placing a deposit, prospective buyers should wait for Jaguar to publish all of the following through an official channel:
- U.S. MSRP and destination charge
- EPA-certified range
- Final charging connector and charging-power information
- Reservation or ordering instructions
- Authorized retailer participation

What the Type 00 range claim really means
The frequently repeated 430-mile figure is easy to misreport. It is not a current EPA rating for Type 00, because Type 00 is not a production car. It is also not yet a confirmed EPA rating for Type 01. It was an earlier projected target associated with the future JEA-based production GT.
The same caution applies to the 770-km WLTP target and the projected 200 miles of added range in 15 minutes. Final range can change after engineering development, certification testing, tire selection, software calibration, and market-specific equipment are complete. Rapid-charging performance can also vary with battery temperature, state of charge, charger output, and the vehicle’s charging curve.
Jaguar has not yet supplied the battery capacity, connector specification, peak charging rate, or charging-curve data needed to recommend a Type 01-specific home charger, cable, adapter, or accessory. Generic EV charging information may help future buyers understand the terminology, but compatibility should be checked only after Jaguar publishes the production specification.
Why Jaguar created Type 00
