Isotta Fraschini’s Tipo 6 LMH Strada is the road-oriented member of the Tipo 6 LMH family, alongside the Competizione endurance racer and Pista track variant. ANSA reported in November 2023 that the Strada made a public-road trip from Milan to Sanremo and combined a 750 CV V6 with a 270 CV hybrid system for more than 1,000 CV. Its road registration, however, was not presented as universal: the manufacturer said it depended on whether a country permits registration through a repeatable one-off homologation route.
What is the Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH Strada?
The Strada is the public-road-oriented version of Isotta Fraschini’s Tipo 6 LMH hypercar project. The family also includes the Tipo 6 LMH Competizione, built for endurance racing, and the Pista, which the manufacturer described as a customer track-event variant. The company unveiled the Competizione in Milan on 28 February 2023 and announced the other two versions as part of the program.
The racing connection is real, but the Strada should not be treated as a race car with every component unchanged. The 2024 Le Mans press kit describes the Tipo 6 LMH-C racing car as a hybrid with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 prepared by Michelotto Engineering; those details establish the competition car’s context, not a complete specification for the road-going Strada.
Is the Tipo 6 LMH Strada road legal?
It was presented as suitable for public roads, but that does not mean it can be registered everywhere. In its February 2023 announcement, Isotta Fraschini said the Strada could be registered as a repeatable one-off in countries that allow that type of homologation. The practical answer therefore depends on the registration rules where the car is to be used.

ANSA reported that the Strada made a public-road journey from Milan to Sanremo in November 2023. It also reported greater ride height and less extreme reactions than the competition car, but this account does not establish a country-by-country approval list or a universal road-legal status.
How much power does the Strada make?
ANSA’s November 2023 report gave the Strada a 3.0-litre V6 rated at 750 CV and a 270 CV hybrid system, for a combined output above 1,000 CV. The same report said the car weighed less than 1,000 kg, had a single-seat driving position and used Pirelli P-Zero tyres. These are reported launch-era figures, not results from an independent test.

The manufacturer’s official press kit lists different, broader platform figures: a 700 hp 3.0-litre turbocharged 90-degree V6 and a 270 hp front electric motor. That is not a complete Strada technical sheet, and its engine figure differs from ANSA’s Strada-specific 750 CV figure. The two sets of numbers should be kept attributed to their sources rather than combined into a single specification.

The manufacturer also said the Strada had greater ride height and less extreme reactions than the race car, according to ANSA’s report. A full current side-by-side technical specification for the two versions is not established by the cited material.

What did the Strada cost, and how many were planned?
ANSA and Quattroruote reported a €3.25 million starting price in 2023. Quattroruote also reported a planned production run of 12 Stradas. These are launch-era reported figures: they do not confirm today’s price, current availability, or how many cars have been delivered.

At the February 2023 launch, Isotta Fraschini announced a €100 million investment and plans for about 50 Tipo 6 units over five years. It also described a new two-seat hypercar planned from 2026, with later production projected at 30–40 units per year. These were historical company plans, not confirmation that the targets were achieved.

The company’s Motorsport director, Claudio Berro, said at the time that the Competizione was in its complete configuration and that the intention was to compete in the 2023 WEC season on a race-by-race basis, subject to FIA homologation. That statement concerned the racing car and the company’s plans at launch; it does not describe the Strada or establish current racing status.
