Generally, yes. Road testers describe the Škoda Slavia as composed and absorbent over broken roads, with supportive seats and stable highway manners that suit long trips. Its ride is controlled rather than plush: low-speed stiffness and sharper jolts from larger potholes are the main comfort caveats. The updated 2026 model has announced comfort changes, but the available sources do not include an independent ride test of that version.
How comfortable is the Slavia on bad roads?
On patchy tarmac and smaller potholes, the Slavia tends to take the edge off impacts while keeping its body movements in check. Autocar India’s launch road test described the suspension as mature in the way it absorbed shocks and controlled body movement. In a 17,000 km long-term report, Autocar India found the ride absorbent and flat over rough roads, with little pitching or bobbing, though it noted some stiffness at low speed. There is a limit to that composure: Team-BHP’s review found that small potholes were soaked up, while larger ones produced a sharp impact in the cabin. That points to a firm, well-controlled setup, not a soft ride that masks every road defect. Take care over deep potholes and broken edges rather than assuming the suspension will smooth them away.
Is it comfortable for long drives?
The evidence is encouraging for both rows. Autocar India’s long-term account praised the supportive front seats and rear-bench space, and reported confidence on dirt roads and unpaved country lanes. Team-BHP described stable cruising at 100–120 km/h and said the car should be comfortable on long road trips. These are road-test and ownership observations, not a guarantee for every occupant, route or driving speed.

Seat comfort is personal, so spend time in both rows during a test drive. Pay attention to how the seat supports you after more than a few minutes, and consider whether the rear passengers you typically carry find the bench comfortable. For highway use, assess road and wind noise and the stability you feel at legal speeds.
What ground clearance does the Slavia have?
Škoda’s 2022 launch material and a 2022 Team-BHP test reported 179 mm of unladen ground clearance. That figure is useful context for earlier Slavia configurations, not a confirmed specification for every 2026 variant: Škoda Auto India’s 18 August 2026 announcement does not state a revised clearance measurement. Ask the dealer for the current figure for the exact version you are considering.

Ground clearance can help on many speed breakers and rough stretches, but it cannot guarantee that the car will clear every obstacle. Passengers and luggage change the load on the car, and a large or poorly shaped obstacle can still pose a scraping risk.
Does ride comfort differ by engine or model year?
In an earlier Team-BHP comparison, the 1.5 TSI test car felt a little stiffer than the 1.0 TSI, which the reviewer attributed to the extra weight at the front. The 1.5 TSI was still described as compliant. This observation concerns an earlier configuration; it does not establish how the 2026 update’s versions compare. Drive the exact engine and trim you plan to buy, because tyre and variant details can also affect what you feel on the road.

What to check on a Slavia test drive
- Choose the exact engine and trim you are considering, and ask the dealer for its current ground-clearance specification and tyre size. Do not assume earlier-model figures automatically apply to the 2026 version.
- Drive a familiar route with patchy tarmac and short, sharp speed breakers. Cross obstacles cautiously and at a safe speed.
- If the route allows, assess how the suspension responds to a larger pothole without deliberately hitting it hard. Notice whether the impact feels acceptable to you and your passengers.
- Sit in both rows long enough to assess seat shape and support. If possible, repeat the drive with the passenger load you expect to carry regularly.
- For frequent highway trips, pay attention to seat comfort, road and wind noise, and how stable the car feels at legal speeds.
