Yes—but the Frikar is returning as the TwoZero Classic under a new company, Phase Energy AS. TwoZero says it acquired manufacturing assets and inventory from Podbike’s estate, not the Podbike company or its trademark. The Classic is a limited continuation with updated electronics, software and engineering changes, not Podbike resuming operations.
What is the TwoZero Classic?
The TwoZero Classic is the successor to the Podbike Frikar: an enclosed, four-wheel pedal-electric vehicle designed for one adult, with room for cargo or an optional child seat. It retains the Frikar’s distinctive cabin and drivetrain concept while incorporating changes TwoZero describes as updates to electronics, software and engineering. TwoZero’s About Us page explains the asset transfer; New Atlas’s January 2026 report describes the vehicle and the planned relaunch.
TwoZero’s About page states: “What TwoZero did not acquire was the Podbike company itself which does not exist anymore, nor the Podbike trademark or domain names.” That is the company’s account of the transaction, rather than an independent legal finding.
How does its pedal-electric drivetrain work?
Unlike a conventional bicycle, the pedals do not turn the wheels through a chain or belt. Pedaling turns a generator; electricity from that generator powers two rear-wheel motors, with a removable battery providing assistance. The reported Frikar configuration included an enclosed cabin, lighting with indicators, a windshield wiper, a defogger fan and a removable canopy. These are reported product details, not a current independent inspection of every TwoZero Classic.

What performance figures have been reported?
The available figures come from different sources and configurations, so they should not be treated as independently verified guarantees for every Classic.

What happened to Podbike, and how is production planned?
Podbike went bankrupt. New Atlas reported that the company attributed the failure to production costs, supply-chain disruption, slower-than-expected sales and mounting operating expenses. Phase Energy AS says it acquired manufacturing assets and inventory from Podbike AS’s estate in 2025.
TwoZero described a limited production plan: deliver 20 vehicles from acquired stock under the Podbike name, then produce up to 160 additional vehicles as TwoZero Classic Quad units. New Atlas also reported a proposed limited run of 180. The company said assembly and deliveries were scheduled to begin in March 2026. Those were plans announced in early 2026; the available information does not verify that all units were completed or delivered, or establish current inventory.

Can you still buy a Frikar or TwoZero Classic?
Current stock, price and delivery timing are not established here. New Atlas reported a historical Kickstarter pledge price of NOK 79,900, with the battery and charger sold separately and shipping from Norway additional. That campaign figure is not a current retail quote. Contact TwoZero or an authorized seller to confirm whether a vehicle is available, which company name and batch it is sold under, the delivery terms, and what is included.
TwoZero says it will support Podbike and TwoZero vehicles with spare parts, and that each vehicle is delivered with a 10,000 km or two-year warranty, whichever comes first. These are company-stated terms; confirm in writing that the warranty applies to the specific vehicle and ask about parts availability before buying.

TwoZero’s Press & Media page lists a winter-tyre set and a battery/charger among its press materials. That association does not establish that either item is currently for sale or compatible with every vehicle. The original FRIKAR Signature user manual instructs riders to wear a correctly sized and adjusted cycle helmet; it does not establish a universal legal helmet requirement.

TwoZero’s future lineup is a plan, not a set of models confirmed as launched or available to buy. TwoZero’s About page described mass production of the next generation as planned for the first half of 2027. New Atlas reported targets of five pedal-assist EPAC models in 2027 and ten throttle-only moped or light-motorcycle models in 2028. The report also said those future vehicles would differ from the Classic, including by omitting its bubble canopy. Final specifications and launch dates have not been established.
