Mobilize first announced Duo in 2022, presented the production model and opened orders in 2024, then Renault Group said in December 2025 that Duo was stopped. Availability and after-sales support now need to be checked locally.
Is the Mobilize Duo the new Renault Twizy?
It is reasonable to see the Duo as a vehicle in the same broad category as the Twizy: a compact, two-seat electric quadricycle intended for urban mobility. But the official announcements reviewed do not say that Duo directly replaces Twizy or is its formal successor. Mobilize presented it as a new vehicle for private and professional users, fleets and car-sharing.
Mobilize’s October 2022 announcement framed Duo as a small urban vehicle and emphasized its design and shared-mobility potential. The production model was announced two years later. Those facts support describing Duo as a new Mobilize quadricycle, not as a confirmed Twizy replacement. (Mobilize, 10 October 2022; Mobilize, 10 October 2024)
What is the Mobilize Duo?
Duo is a two-seat electric quadricycle designed for short urban journeys. Mobilize initially described versions limited to 45 km/h and 80 km/h, positioning the vehicle for both private use and professional fleets. The production announcement retained the two-seat, compact-city-car concept and gave the vehicle’s length as 2.43 metres.

The 2022 concept announcement also described a rear electric motor driving the rear wheels and a width of 1.30 metres. It said three Duo vehicles could park perpendicular to the kerb in a standard parking space. These are figures and claims from the concept announcement, not independent measurements. Its stated height appears as “1.46 cm,” an apparent unit error, so it should not be treated as a verified dimension. (Mobilize, 10 October 2022; Mobilize, 10 October 2024)
How far can the Mobilize Duo travel?
The published range changed between the concept and production announcements. In 2022, Mobilize projected 140 km, pending WMTC certification. In 2024, the production announcement stated a range of up to 161 km. These are company-published figures from different stages of the vehicle’s development; neither should be read as an independently tested real-world range or a guarantee of what a particular driver will achieve.

Do not confuse Duo with Bento, the separate utility vehicle announced alongside it. Bento’s cargo capacity and range are not Duo specifications. The 2022 concept release mentioned Type 2 public charging and standard home connectors, but that concept-stage description does not establish which charging equipment was included with each production vehicle.
What features did the production Duo include?
Mobilize’s October 2024 production announcement said the Duo came with a driver airbag as standard. It also described the MyDuo app, which could generate up to six digital keys. The announcement presented the model for Renault-network distribution and said orders would open on 14 October 2024. These are statements from the manufacturer, not independent assessments of safety or usability. (Mobilize, 10 October 2024)

Can you drive the Duo without a licence?
There is no universal answer: eligibility depends on the Duo version and the laws where the vehicle is registered and driven. In a Belgium and Luxembourg announcement dated 1 April 2025, Renault Group said the Duo 45 Neo was limited to 45 km/h and accessible from age 16 with an AM permit; the Duo 80 Evo reached 80 km/h and required a driving licence. The professional Duo 80 Pro was described as a fleet-oriented version.
That announcement is a dated example for those markets, not legal guidance for other countries or a statement of current rules. Check the relevant local authority’s requirements for the vehicle category, age, licence, registration and permitted roads before driving. (Renault Group Belgium, 1 April 2025)
What did the Duo cost?
Renault Group’s Belgium and Luxembourg announcement listed market-specific starting prices in 2025. The Belgium figures were €9,990 for the Duo 45 Neo and €12,500 for the Duo 80 Evo. Prices differed between Belgium and Luxembourg in the same release, so these are historical local starting prices—not a current universal price list or confirmation that either version is available to order today. Renault Group announced on 12 December 2025 that Duo was stopped as part of discontinuing certain Mobilize Beyond Automotive activities, citing limited profitability prospects or weak strategic fit. The announcement does not say what inventory remained in each country or whether every market had ended sales on the same date. Do not assume new orders are generally available in 2026.

What is known about the Duo’s safety and real-world performance?
The official announcements establish selected product claims, including the production model’s standard driver airbag and manufacturer-published range figures. They do not provide independent crash-test results, real-world range tests, durability findings or owner-satisfaction data. The presence of an airbag should not be taken as a substitute for a broader safety assessment.
