Its listed range reaches $21,890, so not every version is under $20,000. That is not a U.S. transaction price, and the available information does not establish that the EZ-6 is sold in the United States. Audi’s U.S. starting MSRPs for the 2025 A5 Sportback are $46,300 and $48,400, before specified fees and charges.
What the under-$20,000 comparison actually means
Data.CarNewsChina.com lists the 2026 EZ-6 at ¥118,800–¥146,800 and displays that range as $17,720–$21,890 using a rate of 1 USD = 6.71 yuan, recalculated September 11, 2026. The lower end is below $20,000; the upper end is not. These are China-market prices converted to U.S. dollars, not U.S. retail offers, delivered prices, or evidence of local sale eligibility. The figures also should not be mistaken for one universally applicable price list. Changan Mazda’s official comparison page, accessed October 4, 2026, lists five BEV trim starting prices from ¥139,800 to ¥162,800. Separately, Autohome reported that the 2026 lineup launched in China on November 1, 2025, with 11 configurations priced from ¥119,800 to ¥162,800. How that compares with the U.S.-market Audi A5
Audi of America lists the 2025 A5 Sportback 40 TFSI quattro at a $46,300 starting MSRP and the S line 45 TFSI quattro at $48,400. Audi says those figures exclude destination and delivery, taxes, title, options, and dealer charges. This makes the nominal price gap striking, but the comparison crosses markets and model-year bases: converted China-market EZ-6 prices versus U.S. MSRP for a 2025 Audi. What the China-market EZ-6 offers on paper
The official Changan Mazda comparison lists the EZ-6 as a five-seat car measuring 4,921 × 1,890 × 1,485 mm, with a 2,895 mm wheelbase. Listed cargo capacity is 479 L behind the rear seats, 1,174 L with them folded, and 99 L in the front trunk. Those figures give a useful sense of packaging, but they do not by themselves establish a like-for-like practicality advantage over an A5 Sportback.

Changan Mazda lists a 15-minute charge from 30% to 80% for these trims. The range and charging figures are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent test results; the range uses China’s CLTC cycle and should not be treated as a directly comparable real-world or U.S. EPA estimate. Why it is not a straightforward Audi substitute
The EZ-6 is an electrified model developed through the Changan Mazda collaboration. Mazda describes the arrangement as combining Mazda’s design and driving aims with EV and smart technology supplied by Changan. That background explains the car’s identity, but it does not make it a direct equivalent to every Audi A5 configuration. Mazda’s 2024 announcement
- Market and delivered cost: Confirm that the exact car can be legally purchased, registered, insured, serviced, and supported where you live. A converted list price does not include import, tax, transport, or other local costs.
- Model year and trim: Compare equivalent market-year specifications and equipment, not a China-market entry price with a U.S. Audi MSRP as if they were quotes from one showroom.
- Propulsion and use: The cited EZ-6 specifications are for BEV trims. Charging access and driving patterns matter; the Audi trims cited here are not the same vehicle or powertrain proposition.
- Body and practicality: Check dimensions, cargo layout, seating, and everyday access in person where possible. Similar broad vehicle categories do not guarantee identical space or usability.
- Comparable ownership evidence: A sound decision also needs matched information on warranty, service access, equipment, and real-world performance and range. The cited sources do not provide a controlled head-to-head drive, equivalent warranty comparison, or full landed-cost comparison.
What Mazda6e availability does—and does not—tell you
Mazda says the Mazda6e is based on the EZ-6 and was refined for other markets. It went on sale in Europe in September 2025, with expansion to additional regions planned for 2026. That establishes Mazda6e availability in Europe and a plan for further expansion; it does not establish that the China-market EZ-6 is sold or supported in any particular country, or that Mazda6e specifications and pricing match the EZ-6.
