But calling it “the final mid-engine car with a manual under $1 million” goes further than Lotus’s published information can prove: the company’s announcements establish the Emira’s configuration and its own past product strategy, not an exhaustive comparison with every automaker or a final production date.
Does the Lotus Emira come with a manual?
Yes. In Lotus’s 5 June 2025 announcement of the 2026 Emira range, the V6 SE came standard with a six-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential; an automatic transmission was optional. Lotus listed the V6 SE at 400 bhp and a 0–62 mph time of 4.3 seconds. Lotus’s Emira model page also describes the V6 as available with manual or automatic transmission. Specifications and availability can vary by market and change over time.
What does “Toyota Camry engine” mean here?
The Emira V6 uses a 3,456 cc Toyota 2GR-FE V6 with a supercharger, according to Lotus’s technical specifications. The engine is Toyota-designed and used in multiple applications; calling it a “Camry engine” is shorthand, not a precise description of the Emira’s complete powertrain or a claim that the Lotus has an unmodified Camry installation. Lotus’s 2025 release described the Emira’s supercharged 3.5-litre V6 as producing 400 hp. The 2026 range announcement gives the V6 SE’s output as 400 bhp.
How much does a manual Lotus Emira cost?
Lotus announced starting prices for the 2026 Emira V6 SE of £96,500 in the UK and €117,500 in Germany on 5 June 2025. Those are dated, market-specific list prices—not a current US quote, a worldwide price, or a guarantee of a buyer’s final on-road cost. Taxes, options, dealer charges, availability, and later price changes can affect what a buyer pays. Check with a Lotus retailer for a current price in your market.

How does the V6 manual compare with other 2026 Emiras?
Lotus’s 5 June 2025 announcement distinguishes the V6 manual from the turbocharged four-cylinder models by both engine and gearbox. Its listed figures are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
| 2026 model as announced | Engine and gearbox | Published output and acceleration | Published starting price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Emira V6 SE | Supercharged 3.5-litre V6; six-speed manual standard, automatic optional | 400 bhp; 0–62 mph in 4.3 seconds | £96,500 UK; €117,500 Germany |
| Emira Turbo SE | 2.0-litre turbocharged engine; eight-speed dual-clutch transmission | 400 bhp; 0–62 mph in 4.0 seconds | Not stated in the cited 5 June 2025 announcement |
The published acceleration figures describe different configurations and do not, by themselves, determine which car will suit a driver better. The key practical distinction for a shopper seeking three pedals is that Lotus associates the manual with the V6; the announced Turbo models use an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. See Lotus’s 2026 lineup announcement for the dated specifications.

Is the Emira the final mid-engine manual car?
That claim is not established by the available Lotus statements. Lotus’s 6 July 2021 launch announcement called the Emira “the last internal combustion engine-powered production car from Lotus.” That was a statement about Lotus’s own strategy at the time—not a declaration that the Emira was the last mid-engine manual from any manufacturer worldwide. Lotus’s 2021 announcement does not establish a final order date or prove that production of the V6 manual has ended.
The 2025 lineup announcement, by contrast, confirms that the V6 SE was still specified with a manual as standard for that announced range. Whether it is the last model satisfying a broader “mid-engine, manual, under $1 million” test depends on the geography, the date, whether only new cars count, how price is converted across currencies, and whether “manual” excludes automated or sequential gearboxes. Lotus’s material does not provide a complete industry-wide comparison, so “the final” is best treated as a headline question rather than a verified superlative.

What tires does the Lotus Emira V6 use?
Lotus lists 245/35 R20 front and 295/30 R20 rear tire sizes for the V6 specification. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are identified as an optional choice in the Drivers Pack, not as the fitment on every Emira. Confirm the model year, trim, wheel package, and approved fitment for a specific car before buying replacement tires. Lotus’s model specifications and 2026 lineup details provide the relevant published sizes and option information.
