No—not on the evidence available. Aspark publishes a 0–60 mph time of 1.72 seconds for the OWL Roadster, using a one-foot rollout. McMurtry reports a quicker 1.40-second 0–60 mph run for a Spéirling prototype, while its later production-form Spéirling PURE specification is 1.55 seconds with the same rollout convention. These are results from different contexts, not a matched test that settles a universal record.
What is the Aspark OWL Roadster’s 0–60 mph time?
Aspark’s OWL Roadster specifications list 0–60 mph in 1.72 seconds with a one-foot rollout. Aspark says the figure is based on development testing conducted in 2020; it is not a newly conducted test or a result from a head-to-head comparison.
The same page describes the OWL as ranking among the world’s fastest-accelerating electric hypercars. That is the manufacturer’s characterization, not proof of an independently adjudicated all-time 0–60 mph record. Aspark also cautions that its specifications may change without notice and are not necessarily accurate, complete, or current.
How does it compare with the McMurtry Spéirling?
McMurtry publishes two distinct figures for different versions or contexts. Its record page reports a prototype run; its 2026 release gives a production-form specification. They should not be treated as interchangeable results.

| Car and result | 0–60 mph figure | Context |
|---|---|---|
| Aspark OWL Roadster | 1.72 seconds; one-foot rollout | Aspark-published specification based on development testing conducted in 2020. Aspark |
| McMurtry Spéirling prototype | 1.40 seconds | McMurtry says it was independently measured during filming for carwow. The page does not specify a rollout convention. McMurtry |
| McMurtry Spéirling PURE, production form | 1.55 seconds; one-foot rollout | Manufacturer specification in McMurtry’s release dated July 2, 2026. McMurtry |
The 1.40-second prototype result is quicker than Aspark’s published Roadster figure, but the available details do not establish an apples-to-apples ranking: the cars’ test contexts differ, and the prototype page does not state the rollout convention. The production-form PURE’s 1.55-second specification also uses rollout, but it remains a manufacturer specification rather than a shared independent test with the Roadster.
Why “fastest ever” is difficult to verify
A valid comparison needs more than two headline times. The speed interval and units, rollout method, vehicle version, test conditions, measurement source, and record-adjudication process all matter. A one-foot rollout excludes the first foot of movement from the timed interval, so a number reported with rollout cannot automatically be compared with a number whose convention is different or unstated.
Here, Aspark’s Roadster figure is a manufacturer-published development-test result, while McMurtry’s prototype result is described by the manufacturer as independently measured during filming. McMurtry’s production-form figure is a separate manufacturer specification. The available sources do not document a standardized head-to-head 0–60 mph test of these cars or an authoritative register establishing a universal all-time record. The claim that the Roadster is the fastest-accelerating car ever is therefore not established.

Aspark’s OWL history and specifications page says the company achieved 0–60 mph in 1.72 seconds on a track in Greece in 2021. That statement belongs to the OWL history page and should not be silently combined with the Roadster page’s account that its figure is based on 2020 development testing.

Aspark also says the OWL set two official average-speed records in May 2023 under the auspices of the UK Timing Association at Elvington Airfield in Yorkshire: 309.02 kph (192 mph) over an eighth mile and 318.8 kph (198 mph) over a quarter mile. These are average-speed claims over distance, not 0–60 mph acceleration records, so they do not settle the Roadster’s standing in an acceleration comparison.
Roadster specifications Aspark publishes
For context, Aspark lists these Roadster specifications on its official page. They are manufacturer figures, not independent test results.
- Power: 1,953 hp (1,456 kW)
- Battery capacity: 69 kWh
- Top speed: 413 km/h (256 mph)
- Drive range: 250 km
- Tires: Michelin Pilot Sport CUP2-R, 265/35 ZR20 front and 325/30 ZR21 rear; Aspark describes the fitment as optimized for fastest acceleration.
Aspark’s stated tire sizes identify the Roadster fitment; they do not establish compatibility for another vehicle. Check the exact vehicle and fitment before relying on a tire listing.
