Yes—Toyota’s U.S. model-year launch prices for three matching Grand Highlander configurations were each $500 higher for 2026 than for 2025. That comparison is between the prices in Toyota’s launch announcements, not a claim about today’s displayed price or a dealer’s out-the-door quote.
How much did the launch prices rise?
Toyota’s 2024 announcement listed 2025 model-year starting MSRPs, and its 2025 announcement listed 2026 model-year starting MSRPs. Comparing the same powertrain and grade in those announcements gives a $500 increase in each of the three categories below.

These are manufacturer-published U.S. launch MSRPs. The comparison is meaningful only when the powertrain and grade match; it does not compare every possible 2025 and 2026 configuration or establish what a buyer paid.
What is the 2026 Grand Highlander’s current listed starting price?
Toyota.com’s Grand Highlander page listed a starting MSRP of $42,260 when accessed October 4, 2026, with listed grade prices ranging from $42,260 for LE to $60,175 for Hybrid MAX Platinum. Toyota’s 2026 launch announcement had listed $41,360 for the gas LE FWD. Those figures come from different points in the pricing cycle, so the current page’s starting price should not be substituted for the launch figure in the year-over-year calculation.

The page’s starting price refers to the LE grade; it is not a single price that represents all three powertrains. The gas, Hybrid and Hybrid MAX versions differ in configuration and price. Toyota’s page also links shoppers to local inventory, offers and quote requests, but it does not establish a current transaction price for a particular buyer.
How to compare the price with a dealer quote
- Match the vehicle. Compare the same model year, powertrain, grade and drivetrain—for example, gas LE FWD against gas LE FWD.
- Identify the price date and type. Keep Toyota’s launch MSRP separate from a current manufacturer-page listing and from a dealer’s written offer.
- Ask for the amount payable. Request a current, location-specific quote and check which options, dealer-installed items, taxes and fees are included. The published MSRP comparison does not establish those quote-specific amounts.
What else varies by Grand Highlander configuration?
Toyota’s current page describes gas, Hybrid and Hybrid MAX powertrains, seating for up to eight, cargo capacity up to 97.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded, and towing up to 5,000 pounds. Specifications depend on configuration. Toyota’s page gives estimated city/highway fuel economy examples of 21/28 MPG for gas LE, 36/32 MPG for Hybrid LE and 26/27 MPG for Hybrid MAX Limited; these are Toyota estimates, not independent test results.

Toyota’s 2026 model-year announcement said vehicles were expected at dealerships in fall 2025. That was a historical expectation, not confirmation of current inventory.
