The viral “2025 Subaru BRAT” reveal videos and images were not supported by an official product announcement, pricing, configurator listing or production specifications.

There is one important 2025-related exception: Subaru did build a real modern vehicle based on the classic BRAT. It is called the Brataroo 9500 Turbo, and it is a one-off Gymkhana motorsports machine—not a consumer pickup and not a revived production model.

A genuine production launch would normally be accompanied by several independently verifiable details:

U.S. production effectively ended after the 1987 model year. How to fact-check a “new Subaru BRAT” reveal
- Start with Subaru’s official model list. If the claimed model is absent from the applicable country’s catalog and configurator, treat the claim as unconfirmed.
- Find the original announcement. A real launch should trace back to Subaru, Subaru Motorsports or an identifiable regulatory and dealer source—not only a YouTube thumbnail.
- Separate renderings from vehicles. AI images, concept art and speculative designs can look highly realistic while having no connection to an approved product.
