By Harley-Davidson’s published horsepower figures, the 2025 Sportster S is more powerful than the 2025 Low Rider S: it is rated at 121 hp versus 114 hp. But the Low Rider S makes more torque, and those two models do not establish a complete ranking of every 2025 Harley-Davidson cruiser.
How the Sportster S compares with the Low Rider S
Harley-Davidson publishes the following engine-output figures for these two 2025 models:

On these published specifications, the Sportster S leads in horsepower by 7 hp; the Low Rider S leads in torque by 35 ft-lb. Horsepower and torque describe different aspects of engine output, so the Sportster S’s horsepower lead does not mean it wins every performance comparison.
Does that make it the most powerful Harley-Davidson of 2025?
No—not without limiting the claim to the cruiser comparison. Harley-Davidson lists the 2025 CVO Road Glide ST at 127 hp and 145 ft-lb of torque, both above the Sportster S’s published figures. The CVO Road Glide ST is a different model category, so its specification does not answer which cruiser leads; it does show why the broader claim “most powerful Harley-Davidson” would be misleading.

The official figures reviewed here establish a horsepower lead over the Low Rider S, not an exhaustive ranking of every 2025 Harley-Davidson cruiser. The careful conclusion is that the Sportster S is the horsepower leader among the two official 2025 cruiser examples compared here—not a verified winner across the entire cruiser lineup.
What to know about the Sportster S’s engine and specs
Harley-Davidson’s product copy says the Sportster S is built around a Revolution Max 1250T engine producing 121 hp and 93 ft-lb of torque. However, the same product page’s technical-spec field labels its engine “Revolution Max 975T.” That conflict is present in the manufacturer’s own page; it should not be silently treated as resolved. The 2025 owner’s manual identifies the model as RH1250S and gives its displacement as 1,252 cm³.

The product page also lists 502 lb weight in running order, 3.1 gal fuel capacity, a 28.9-inch laden seat height, a four-inch TFT display and rider-assistance electronics. The manual specifies six forward gears and premium unleaded fuel. These details help describe the motorcycle, but they do not change the horsepower-versus-torque comparison.

If you mean the highest published horsepower among the two 2025 cruisers compared, the Sportster S qualifies. If you mean greater published torque, the Low Rider S leads. These specifications alone cannot determine which motorcycle will suit a particular rider or perform better in every real-world situation; weight, ergonomics, equipment and riding style also matter.
